How do you tell if someone comes from old money? Fancy is the life they lead and we’ll get deep into their clam bakes and pachance for tomato sandwiches.
Last but not least, we’ll break down the wardrobe essentials you will need to look like you stepped out from the pages of a vintage Ralph Lauren Polo ad.

I think you are talking about my grandma. She sadly passed away in 2020 with 94 years but the things you were saying brought a smile to my face. She had this sunday easter church look. She looked like the Queen. A lot of her belongings (paintings, furniture etc) are no inside my parents house. We also moved some of her rose bushes. Guess i am old money now... Sorry for my bad english

This video is great, I laughed a lot watching it 😂 I’m not old money, but not poor either, and there are different types of dressage and it’s not all the fancy footwork you see on the Olympics. I was taught to ride dressage when I was growing up and my sister showed dressage with our horses and it can be way different.

“Tights” usually refers to the heavier, colored (especially black) or textured hosiery or what ballet dancers wear. “Pantyhose” usually mean the flesh-colored sheer hosiery. Old school “hose” - short for “hosiery” - were the ones from before the 60s that had to be attached to garters. When the one-piece hose (with an attached panty) came out, they were called “pantyhose!”

My family has a huge history of fantasising about being old money. My great-grandmother (herself a talented seamstress married to a landscape painter and 3 or 4 other guys) used to say her grandfather was a baron before the Russian revolution. I did some research and turns out he was a cobbler's son turned soldier of the imperial guard turned an accountant. He was such a pretentious guy that his own cook laughed at him (he used to throw tea cups and saucers at housemaids if they were mismatched). After the revolution he literally lost his mind and died in the asylum. He was also ethnically German and had three names, I guess this added to his "aristocratic" image. By the way, his wife's niece was a ballet dancer in Mariinsky Theater (at the same time as Anna Pavlova, they were colleagues, though not friends). She married a nephew of Leo Tolstoy's wife. They were quite well-off, but she still used to ask all the rich people around her for huge sums of money (including Grand Duke Dmitry Pavlovich, one of the murderers of Rasputin). After the revolution they emigrated to France, and one of her daughters married some Russian duke there. The irony is that that ballerina herself was from a family of shopkeepers (in and out of poverty), which was considered to be very unrefined. On my grandfathers side of the family there is a legend that we are the descendants of one quite famous figure from the Ukranian history of the early 18th century, even though the ancestors we know about (from the late 19th century) were really poor and mostly illiterate peasants (but they had the same surname and originally came from the same place as he did). So, I might not be old money, but at least I'm an old wannabe (with some really nice landscapes).

For the Ritz crackers thing, I don't know where that came from maybe that's a West Coast thing, on the East Coast (specifically New York and Connecticut, with my parents later Summers becoming Jupiter Florida) we always did Carrs crackers. I feel like this video itself would be an interesting interview or collaboration style where you could go through your notes and I could tell you my perspective cuz I feel like there's a lot of things I want to reply to but there's definitely not enough room and it'd be far too long to read.

We all wore RL , we all dressed preppy in the late 80's. Believe me, we were not wealthy teens. We all went to private schools, Catholic schools.... All Nuns.... The best education anyone could get.... We were all kids of Irish immigrants. This was in the Boston suburbs. We all went to better colleges, Boston college, Dartmouth in New Hampshire , Notre Dame, these were the Irish schools that were our first choices. Our parents worked so hard, we all had at least 4 siblings.... We all did well, because we worked hard.. Bags weren't a big thing with us. You sound so sour and jealous. Get over it.

Seriously? I think of dumpy women who wear the same expensive clothes they have worn for decades sitting on worn sofas on worn but priceless carpets with dogs everywhere. The men hunt and go to the club. Maybe (like King Charles) they paint or carve or something. The women garden and knit and and read and occasionally meet sorority friends for lunch to discuss the weather and charity efforts.

I’ve always wondered why East Asians are so obsessed with our culture. They want to imitate our European essence as much as possible. Style, art, color, skin, way of dressing It doesn't happen with Latin people or Hispanics, it doesn't happen with Arabs, it doesn't happen with people from Africa. This is like a resort deep in the far east. They should be proud of their culture

Advice: if you want to have easy life , get rich bf who's average looking, increase cooking skill, start faking things like anxiety, depression, make your self feel vulnerable, make sure distance yourself from male friends, make sure don't talk about feminism. May be watch tv whole day make sure not to use phone too much This works majority of time unless he is closeted gay guy or sexseeker .
