Study plan | Pass PART 1 of ORE/LDS/MFDS/MJDF

This smart plan will help you prepare for the UK Dental Theory exams - Part 1 of ORE or LDS or MFDS or MJDF
My advice is to study for at least 4hrs a day for at least 3-4months. And keep yourself updated with the latest information regarding articles or guidelines.

    It is advisable to follow the latest edition to stay updated , but it is ok even if you read the previous edition. Only make sure to check the current radiation values and the drugs doses , as these keep changing. You can refer FGDP guidelines for radiography & SDCEP drug prescription.     Generally students purchase it online through websites like Amazon. Or If you have access to libraries then it will be great. Another option can be to purchase second hand books.     @@muhammadnauman514 Hi Muhammad , I am not sure about the course you have mentioned. Is it related to dental technician ? Please check the curriculum it has covered. You can go on to the gdc website and complete the 'route to registration' questions. This may lead you to the DCP application. Here you can select dental technician , if you are aware that your degree has taught you the relevant skills & knowledge.

    @Bhavya Kurup ORE 1 contains Paper A & paper B. I don't remember exactly but Each part contains about 120 questions. And for passing you need to score at least 50% in each part.

    That's not true. You need to be strong with your basics. There are few important chapters that need to be covered from blue book.

    No , Part 1 is a theory exam. Self studies from the right study material is enough

    NARIC would not be a proof of English evidence. Therefore you will need to appear for IELTS. Please email them to reconfirm

    Hi Sawaira There is a vast syllabus if you see on the official website. But as mentioned in this video , if you follow this study plan , hopefully you would be able to cover all the required topics.

    Hi dr thank you for the video I wanna ask if I should study by my own to save money for the actual exam but the thing is there are many and many courses in for the exam in my country and a lot of ppl taking it way more experienced and knowledgeable than me making me think of taking the course

    Hi Sardash It is totally up to you if you wish to take courses for part 1 but as part 1 is only theory, I think you can pass it without additional courses. As long as you have all the study material and keep practicing the MCQ's

    @@Badbooo123 Yea , 6 months would be enough. It depends on your ability. I understand ... there are lot of things to study. My advice is to start with the pink book (oxford handbook of clinical dentistry )and simultaneously do pastest books to get an idea of the mcq's. Also you should be doing the important guidelines as mentioned in the video.

    Hi Milan Both these qualifications - MFDS & MFD carry the same benefit. The only difference is that MFDS is conducted by RCS England , Edinburgh & Glasgow. And MFD is conducted by RCS Ireland.

    I would not say it is easy , neither too difficult. Both exams require knowledge & skills of at least a fresh graduate dentist. Of course being UK exams the candidate is expected to know about the most updated guidelines. So if you study well and practice manikin well, you would be able to pass. Certainly you will have to put that extra effort to succeed.
