@@blakeok952 Think 3rd-party manufactures. In most cases they give you 8/10th the quality for half the price. Unless you're an extreme professional, most users won't even get anywhere near the limit to their equipment. For example, if I were going to film in Antarctica I'd choose all Canon gear. But for everything else, Sigma and other 3rd-party manufactures will be more than enough. That's my point.

They literally went from using an 8000$ camera to using a 600$ camera with 300$ gear. I don't know whats the point? He is just showing how you can archieve great result by investing into cheap (in this case it is cheap) lights to make your videos look better.

I live in Utah, and do KZread full time. But man - I swear I just can't compete yet with the quality of KZreadrs here. Seriously though, just by watching your videos, before I film I'm always asking myself if my lighting is good, and is there enough depth, how could this be more cinematic and ambient. Hoping to get to your level someday! Thanks for all you do!

Quick note about studio foam: it only addresses high and high mid frequencies. It’ll reduce some echo, but low end frequencies need mass. Building bass traps from floor to ceiling with Rockwool and hanging an acoustic cloud from above will actually have a more positive effect. Also, down does break down over time and can grow mold if you’re shooting in a basement or high humidity (50% or above) space. Rockwool is all natural. There are loads of tutorials on building your own bass traps (which also absorb high frequencies) on KZread.

Thanks for this Parker. What I really like about your videos is that you communicate very deliberately and clearly. A lot of tutorials here on KZread, the hosts are trying to be fun, which I understand- totally. But sometimes the explanations can be lost in the focus to be fun and quirky. Your videos show that a tutorial doesn't have to be boring to be clear. I have more expensive gear than what's here but I don't feel like I've had someone explain these principles just so wholistically! Really feel confident after this video based on what you explained. You have a real talent, thanks!
