This was interesting. I’m an American who moved to South Africa and I find that there’s a major drinking culture here. I also don’t drink so I feel your pain.

Thank you for the great insights Nobue these are some of the things little do people get to know if they don't research and it's good that u come up and help those fellow pips as well. Migration is so much these days and it seems far better for someone coming over who already has employment than going to look for it coz I can imagine the expenses u talk about can be a challenge without that support right?

Yes. You will generally not be able to get a work visa and move to the UK without a job offer already.

Hi Nobue, I am planning to move to London next year around April. I have an LLB Degree from Wits. Please advise how I could go about getting a training contract and if I need to secure it before I immigrate
@NobueKhumalo

Hi Neo. You do need a training contract before you move. Unfortunately it’s really difficult to get one. I only know Linklaters which offers training contracts to students out of the UK. Other than that it’s nearly impossible I’m afraid

@@NobueKhumalo thank you so much for your input and great insight. I guess I am going to have to defer my immigration plans until I am admitted as an Attorney. I do not want to disadvantage myself and struggle to secure employment once I have moved to the UK.

@neosechoaro9614 as a fellow wits LLB graduate...rather get admitted and apply at an international firm like Nortonrose to make your overseas journey easier.
