As a random furry myself (which I'm not afraid to admit it), I would like to give two cents on this manner. Based on some videos covering this issue, I believe in what the kids were describing are actually therians. I wish most people would do their research before casting their judgement on the furry fandom, since they always been the butt of a joke since forever. The therians are basically individuals who believed that they're spirit animals trapped in human bodies (Believe me, I actually researched this stuff), hence they would often walk on four and tends to behave like wild animals. A furry on the other hand, is a fan of anthropomorphic animals, which are animal characters with human qualities. Unlike the therians, some furries uses an entire costume to represent themselves as their own OCs they've created and that's simply called fur suiting. I have nothing against with therians, but hearing what the kids are dealing with such as therians intimidating or straight up bully them like biting and spraying chemicals. And the school administrations refused to intervene, then yes, there should be accountability, because their behavior is unacceptable.

Average school kids and their parents (and news media, apparently) don't know what a therian/otherkin is. They see someone wearing a tail and call them a furry, usually with a lot of hate. It's pretty lame, actually. My wife cosplays Raftalia from Rising of the Shield Hero, and we went to a Halloween activity with our church, and the kids there started calling her a furry just for being in that outfit. Being a furry isnt really about pretending, rather it's a form of self expression maybe even self identification and lack ofconformity. Who decides what normal is? But I agree, they shouldn't harass other students or bite or anything.

Allowing emotionally distressed children to hide from the world via polyester fur is not a good, healthy option. The level of acceptance being coerced here is incredible; or rather, it’s incredible that school authorities have succumbed to such unhealthy indulgences which do not at all aid a child’s wellbeing, and it’s incredible that culturally, this type of treatment is somehow become normalized. No one wants to do the harder work of truly bringing the child into their life. Keep an open mind. Just not so far that your brain falls out.

Being a furry is just a form of self expression and maybe also sexual desire. It's not a form of hiding or escaping. Atleast not inherently. So what if a kid likes anthropomorphic animals and likes to dress up like one?

Besides, nobody chooses or asks to be a furry. It's just something that happens by chance. Chooses to be born, or their nationality, ethnicity, religious upbringing, race etc.

One of the teachers actually said the real offenders were part of the group walking out which made for a finally peaceful day.

Humans are animals too. And theres histories of forced sterilization for us as well.

Dress. Code. And Expulsion. Kids and their parents need to be held to standards of behavior so that the environment is safe for learning.

Hi! I read through the dress code, and saw the kids. No dress code was broken, and no one was wearing full fursuits like Strudel.

News always downplays this garbage, yet support attacking the sensible.

This isn't even furries it's just overactive kids being cringe. Also these kids aren't devastated that they "cant learn" xD. They don't give a shit. Their parents are just giving them the green light to fuck over the cringe kids and they're happy to take it.

Children will do what they are allowed to do in school. Simple as that. 🙄 It’s all on the Admin.

None of this has any place in school. School is a place for education, as in math, history, science, etc., not personal expression and fantasy role playing. What sort of parents send their children to clown schools like this?!? Seriously??? If this is what passes for preparing children for the future, the future leaders of our country, we are doomed.

im a furry and even i find this stupid as hell. theres a time and place to wear that stuff. school is NOT one of em.

Yeah.... when you're now allowed to wear Halloween costumes or cover your face at school, there's good cause for concern. I took all my kids out of school and will never put them back in.

I just talked with one of the kids, and no one wore an *entire fursuit* to school, just little accessories like ears and a tail. I've seen some pictures and its not actually that distracting. This school is hated by every kid who's ever been there for a reason.

@@RadBooz Why? I was always distracted by the girls in my school who wore onsies, or the guys who wore big oversized hoodies, chains, and other accessories. Why draw the line at one thing and not the others? This is all just really thinly-veiled harassment and endorsement for more bullying, these kids did nothing wrong.

Pulled my child out of public school due to being harassed by furries. This can be tied to a new orientation too and they were shown sexually explicit drawings between animals by one of the furries. I was done and sick of it.

So I think the issue is unlike “Strudel” these kids aren’t housebroken. Or maybe just dress like a human at school.

7th grade.... I remember when the principal got on our overhead and said " if you come here tomorrow dressed like micheal Jackson. Ya going home" i wish he was alive to see this

It's fake news. The whole litter boxes in schools thing has been debunked for years.

Then why are these children out side having a demonstration? Why is there a video of one kid screaming at others? It's obvious there are issues at this school and if the principle can't get a handle on this and the children who say they've witness this/ have been the focus of bullying by "furries" and are getting in trouble because they won't put with this NONSENSE, there needs to be an independent investigation about what is going on here and who is to blame.

This is the stupidest thing I have ever seen. All of those kids walked out because SOMETHING is happening. They are not ALL lying. I never would have imagined I would EVER say THIS, but parents are not raising pets; they are raising adults, and if your kid wants to act like a pet, either buy a large crate or a dog house and train them. That’ll stop this idiotic behavior.

We're in the age of smartphones and there's no pictures of anything they're saying? sure...when you're in school you just go with the crowd usually. plus its a good way to get out of school!! I went to school here, they're strict about what people do. Some of these parents should just come to school with their kids. Then they'll see.

Wow, not like you can just scratch yourself? I remember in school two bullies always cornered me on the bus, and one time when I tried getting the school's help they gave themselves bruises and claimed *I* was victimizing both of *them*.

I have a question, why didn’t you interview the actual kids that were protesting?

Also, I'm not going to push the woke agenda on my children, who are grown responsible adults. If you make a circus out of your life, it's not others' responsibility for your feelings. That is yours.

School need to have a uniform and with it a strict policy like those with a joy stick, no matter how the feel will wear one uniform and the same goes for those who have a pocket designed to receive said joy stick.

So you are saying the students that said this is happening are lying?
