Student turned heart hero raises funds to support heart-health awareness and research

The American Heart Association is hoping to teach children the importance of living a healthy lifestyle through its Kids Heart Challenge. Meet Julian Collins, a local student turned heart hero. He recently raised $1,080.57 for the American Heart Association. He even donated his money that he received from making the Honor Roll. Stating that "it was better to help save kids' lives than to buy a new toy." Collins along with his mother, Renee recently stopped by Houston Life to talk about his fundraising campaign. They were also joined by Leanne Schneider from Reliant. For the past three years, Reliant Energy, through their Heart Power Plan, have been committed to supporting the American Heart Association in delivering essential tools and resources to elementary schools across Texas.
