You have to considate it for it to be forgivan depending on the loan if private consolidate if its already held by dept of education you dont have to do nothing

This is not new!!! I don’t get it. There have been IDR programs for years and when you paid for 20 yrs your loan is forgiven. How is this new?

It’s definitely not new my sister used this program after she paid like 70% of her loan

It’s not “new”, but it’s been vastly simplified. It’s automated now vs having to submit dates of employment, etc.

So, you had chemo treatment and are in remission… then they find a cure for cancer. This infuriates you because now people don’t have to suffer like you did?? You make kids walk uphill both ways in snow storms, don’t you? 😒

If student loan debt is such a crisis then why is the government still loaning students money?

How do I get my mortgage cancelled???? I been paying for 40 years and can’t feed myself.

You sell your house, pay off the mortgage, and move back in with your parents then apply for food stamps.

Yes, some people are mad that student loan is being forgiven, but not everyone (myself included) took out loans we couldn't pay back. It's the interest and the economy that have gotten us in this horrible situation. With that being said, I did receive my letter yesterday! My entire $210,000 was forgiven, which included my undergrad, my graduate and the loan I took out for my daughter! because I've been paying on mine for 25 years. I feel like I lost a 100 pounds and hit the lottery in one day. This was my only debt besides a $3,000 credit card, which I will begin applying my student loan payments to in order to erase that debt. I feel like I got a 2nd chance at life. So for those who are mad about it, go ahead and waste your energy. I'll be over here happy and feeling free not thinking about you!

Dr’s, surgeons, nurses and anyone in medical degree programs should have their debt forgiven. Students in the basket weaving degree programs will believe they’re entitled. News update: soup kitchens may hire you, but only if qualified.

These students will be the only ones benefiting from their education. They signed for the loan. No sympathy here. I would like 10,000 to help with my credit card debt. Wheres my loan forgiveness?

Student loan/interest reassignment - TO AMERICAN TAXPAYERS, if you went to college or not - YOU’RE ON THE HOOK for their loans and unpaid interest!

False… you’re on the hook when it comes to handing out the loans… you already paid.. forgiveness doesn’t do anything to taxpayers. Thats ridiculous

@@tedroszerihin5903 You really have no clue; the debt is not erased, it’s simply transferred to every American taxpayer or do you believe money grows on trees? If so…. If not LOOK IT UP - the debt does not disappear it is born by taxpayers or added to the National Debt - one way or the other WE/American Citizens get the bill!
