Stuck in English Conversations? Let's Get You UNSTUCK!

Stuck in English conversations? Let's get unstuck and out of trouble so you can keep your conversations going for longer!
In this lesson, I'll teach you 27 natural English expressions (that native speakers use all the time) to help you get out of trouble during conversations!
They'll help you:
- When you don't understand...
- When you forget your words...
- When you don't know what to say...
- When they don't understand you!
All of these expressions will help you to get out of trouble and keep moving forward in your conversations!
- - - - - REMEMBER! - - - - -
A conversation is not a test!
The other person is not there to challenge you and make you mess up and make fun of you.
They will help you to keep going IF YOU GIVE THEM THE RIGHT CLUES!
Watch the lesson to find out how!

It's funny how your lessons some times comes straight to me. The situation three you mention on the video is exactly what happened to me a couple of weeks ago, last month to be more specific when my boss caught me off guard asking me to share my opinion... and I really froze because I wasn't expecting to be asked, I hadn't thought about the topic and I didn't have anything ready to say at that moment... This channel and your lessons were the first things that came to mind and I wished you had filmed a video about that or that you would 'pop up' with some on my screen... now it's as if you had read my thoughts! 😊 Thank You so much, Miss Emma. 💝💝💝

UNSTUCK in English Conversations (free notes) Situation 1: You don’t understand I’m sorry, I didn’t catch that. Could you repeat what you said? I’m sorry, I’m not following you. Hmmm...I don’t think I understood your question. Can you repeat that? Situation 2: You forget Ahh… What’s that word again? It’s on the tip of my tongue! I’m sorry, I’ve had a mental blank. I can’t remember the word in English. Uhh... I have no idea how to say this in English! Maybe you can help me if I explain what I’m trying to say. Uhh… That's so annoying. Nevermind... Let’s move on. Hang on. Let me start over! Let me try that again. Oh, man! I completely lost my train of thought there… I’m sorry, I’ve completely forgotten what I was talking about. Hopefully, it will come back to me in a few moments. Situation 3: You don’t know what to say Let me think about that for a minute. That’s an interesting question, let me think… That’s tricky… I’ve never been asked that before! Hmmm… I’m not sure! Give me a second to think about it. Give me a moment to think about how to explain that in English! I need some time to think about that. Does anyone else have an answer ready? I’ve never thought about that before. What about you? That’s tricky… I’ve never been asked a question like that before! What do you think? What’s your take (on the situation)? What are your thoughts? Situation 4: They don’t understand you Am I making sense? I don’t think I’m being very clear here, am I? Let’s try that again. Sorry, I think I’m confusing you. What I’m trying to say is…

I know where to find you, Emma! Definitely I am going to continue watching your lessons! I won't be on Facebook so much anymore because it is 99% sure, I can get a second job from January. Then I'll have time to watch your lessons in the evening or Saturday somewhen. I want to wish you Merry Christmas and I wish you the most peaceful and beautiful time with your family and friends!

It's helpful to know that everybody gets stuck in a conversation once in a while, even native speakers. Thank you for pointing it out.

David K. I think this part is so interesting for learners of languages. Confidence and fluency is so related to your ability to ‘get yourself out of trouble’ when you need to. It’s where we start losing fear! ⭐️

@@mmmEnglish_Emma You're absolutely right. I'm doing an English course and my goal is to get the Cambridge Certificate. Speaking is one of my weaknesses and watching your videos gives me practical advice on how to improve it. So thank you. You're doing a great job.

Hi Emma. Another valuable video. Thanks for sharing with us.. Is really frustratly when somebody ask you something and you don't have the answer, not because you don''t know the answer, but because you din't understand what he/she meant. And even if you understand what the other person says but you got stuck wordless. This situation makes me feel embarrassed. But never give up!! Practice, practice, practice!! Have a good day and by the way Merry Christmas!!
