Being someone who works for Halfords I find it funny watching you in a tent that I wouldn’t recommend, unless you are using it in summer when it’s dry, Halfords does sell some pretty good tents through the website but not in store. I do also have a Halfords tent that we have used an awful lot and it’s about 15 years old and still good, but it is a 4 man tent and better built. We do actually sell some good camping stuff but we do sell some pretty cheap stuff too. The headlight you used though is more designed for running so that you are visible hence the red light on the back. It is nice to see other people’s review for things that I personally don’t rate and their conclusions are pretty similar. Thanks Andy for the great videos.

Camping for two nights in Glen Coe tomorrow after a long drive up from Hereford with friends. The issue is, I have recently moved house and my usual tent is buried deep in a storage unit and this was a last minute road trip planned 2 days ago. In the shed I have this exact Halfords Dome XL which we used as a storage tent last summer. Wish me luck 😂

I bought a Halfords tent when I was living in Horsham , sussex . We drove down to Buckfasliegh in Devon . got the tent out of it's bag and started to try putting it up only to find there were no loops for the poles to go through, they had not been sown on . Luckily there is a camping shop a couple of miles away in a place called Ashburton so we went and bought another one . Lesson learnt , if you buy a new tent do a test run at home

There's loads of things you can do to a cheap tent to make it more durable and water resistant, give it coat of fabsil, use a solid plastic tarp over it, buy bivvy T pegs instead of thin ones, get extra ground sheets to give more cushioning and to keep the floor dry.

Living in the US we have a few "Halford" style shops depending on where you live that mostly sell cheap tools, but I would have never thought to check them for camping gear other than a cheap tarp and hatchet or the like. Always love the recipes, you make it look so easy making curry or stir fry! I make a huge mess at home and my wife hates when I cook cause I don't clean up till we're done eating. That stovetop oven is really something, I've got to get me one of those. Love the channel!

What did you do with the rest of the beaten egg? Fry it up as a mini omelette? Save it? Chuck it? Hope you didn't chuck it. "Halfrauds". Heh! Careful, they might sue... Thanks as always for this, very entertaining and informative as well, although I look forward to one of your more elaborate menus soon.

Tagine cooking please, if your taking requests and haven’t already, I haven’t got through all your videos yet (I will). Obviously a delicate item to transport but I think it would be fun. Had many a happy holiday in a Halfords tent when kids were young and I didn’t know or couldn’t afford better, I thought all tents had those faults !

It’s amazing I got near enough the exact version of this tent when I went to Glastonbury in 2017. It was bright orange. Did the job but the condensation in the morning was a nightmare. Didn’t rain much though. Had an inflatable bed which did deflate every morning and gave up in the end. Used to sleeping on the ground but boy my back hurt after 5 days ha. I think I still have the tent somewhere in the cupboard.

Little bit of useless information about halfords history, started life as an ironmongers and it got it's name from the street where the first store opened in 1902. where it progressed from an ironmongers to selling bicycle parts.

Oooh, that dinner looks terrific. I love veggies. And so do those breakfast pastries. Too bad about the rain. Here in CA it seems cheap tents aren't good in rain and that's pretty much ok because since it rains so rarely here, we don't often camp when it rains. But also yes, slanted sides don't work in the rain since if you touch them, they leak.
