Fantastic video, Hank! Should you require any additional parts, please don't hesitate to reach out. Remember, FridayParts is always here to support you!
Just a little advice…. You might want to put a weighted bag over the cable when pulling. If the cable should snap or the hook or pin come loose the cable will come flying right back and “slap you in the face”. That could be a real ouch…. Other than that… that’s a neat winch!

Yes, i thought what happens if that cable snaps, the glass door might not stop it.

That is good advice. But how many toe trucks have you seen use the bag? How many heavy recovery trucks have you seen use a bag? All these offroad winch outs that use a bag or say that before you start winching you need a big. That's full of crap. I used to operate a toe truck and as long as you know what you’re doing and your gear is maintained properly. The cable should not break. And if it does it does. As long as your not in the triangle or with in the band of the cable your fine. And that skidsteer has plexiglass windshield it isn't glass. Yes it could go through it. But not like glass.. On the safety side of things. He needs to put on a safety cage. So when the cable or anything let's go. The operator is safe. The bag is thing is over rated.
Wasn't sure how you were going to pull that dozer out of the hole it was in, that was stuck really good! It's awesome that you have Scripture at the end of your videos Hank, you pick out some really good stuff too!! 🔧🔧🔧🔩⚙🗜
Good morning Hank That winch box worked great You're a great friend God bless and stay safe
🔧👍👍👍👍👍 to you and your family. Have a great memorial weekend.
Make yourself a note: At least 6 inch snatch block will keep from kinking your cable. A hard pull with a small block will wind up your cable like a coil spring.

🔧 The setup works. Great. It’s a first test and no problems. I would say you need a board to stand on in the mud. Good job
The bobcat done a good job pulling out the dozer l glad it worked well good video Hank
this looks like the first job from this new build ! good test , first run !
Matthew's comment was right on! A broken cable will kill you! Put a guard between you and your cable!
Hank Looks like you might want to put a set of tracks on your Bobcat they have some deep cracks and not a lot of tread left.

Better keep that thing on as solid ground as possible! Good job
Awesome job! And the winch worked great! 👍👍 I usually try to anchor myself on dry, level ground when I pull, but, this was a great job Hank. Thanks for sharing, buddy

Throw a blanket or coat or something over that cable in case it pops loose or breaks. It could save a life or limb!
Good job Hank great video thanks
Yep Tommy, I appreciate your help.
Have a nice weekend.
Good job and God bless y'all 😊
Thank you for sharing, always a pleasure watch your video, i learn a lot 👍👍👍👍
Great video thanks hank ❤❤❤❤
Nice rig.
Hank when your winching you need to keep your unit on hard pack ground! You need to if in question double your line from the start. Also on a winch out like this one its better to stay back and above your unit to be pulled out so you get lift and break that suction of mud from it. As for your control box you need to mount it higher and place a guard around it. because if it gets broke your outa the game with no winch!! Otherwise you did a great job of retrieving the dozer! But Great job of keeping your head about the winch out!!

Man that winch is so cool, I can smell the mud in the video, I'm from Louisiana swamps, LOL.
Get ya a set of waders and throw in your truck , they are great for the mud and easy to spray off , God bless
🔧 made it!. Robbie Layton has similar setup for his skidsteer he uses on recoveries,
Hanks Recovery Service, BR549, that setup worked perfect.
You now have a useful tool.. your working now.. keep going.
🔧 Im hanging in there, really enjoy the videos.
🔧 Always make it far beyond 3 mins of your videos. They are awesome!

Definitely would keep the steel cable and some 6in snatch blocks that will help you with pulling big stuff out you really need to put a guard screen on the wench that cable breaks it's going to do some damage
🔧 How did you mangle your finger? Ouch! Great Video! Thank You.
looks like wess work held up great video
🔧
Winch worked great….as already mentioned though, you must put a line dampener on that cable as it’s straight in line with you in the cab. We saw it happen and result was final.
Crazy how many guys are building these winches now for their skid steers !!! It just makes sense and makes a super super versatile machine even more usefull !!!! Oh yeah and HOWBOUTCHA

If you have rubber mats in your truck. You could use the passenger side mat to neal down on and not get so Muddy. Just an observation, great job,

Wes did a great job
Just to let you know a good thing to get for your new tow strap and tow ropes go to the fire department and ask them if they have old two inch fire hose after you get the fire hose cut it into two feet long and put it over your tow strap and tow rope so when you huck up to something you put the fire hose in the area that could cut into your tow strap or rope but that fire hose will protect your heavy duty straps and pulling ropes the good ones are not cheap and you don't want them to be destroyed or damage
Never heard of Friday parts I'll have to check them out.

Hank if memory services me, your bobcat’s door swings out. If that is correct, if you do a cage it needs to be attached to your door not the winch box. Getting out would be difficult at best.

That's right. But I have a forestry door, so I'm confident of the safety factor. 👍

I love that Idea so much I’m building one of my own, but a bit bigger and heavier duty. I really wish you and Willy would patch things up and start filming together again, because your show, nor his (Don’t Be Willy) isn’t as good as when you two was filming together! It’s just so much funnier watching you two work together. Lol.

lol. There's nothing to patch up. We're still great friends. But until he moves in with me or I move in with him, the logistics just ain't gonna work 😂 He's doing great videos with Jacob now!
A decent guard across the front of the skid steer will save a broken cable taking your head off.
🔧🔧 Great video so fqr
🔧 there is one thing I don't like about your winch recovery system. If the cable breaks, it is coming at the glass will not stop it and it will come in the cab that you. Just something to think about put a stop cage on it
Hi Love the puller you make for the skier it look good but look at heavy D and he have one about 3 times Bigger about the walk it talky most of then use regular rechard batteries you can use regular Batteries on it in case of emergency or you charge batteries are dead I know I have a few pair but if they are the ones with permanent batteries pack if you have a inverter in your truck you might be able to charger it on the way to the job just like DP do with his tool and WT
Might want to add cage in front of you to protect from cable breaking and hitting you .Works real good , great video.
Wow that was really nice of you to crawl around in the mud and stuff. I would have said, "wait, you tried to drive through that? Ok, well I am here and uh, here is the cable and the pin, go ahead and hook that up and I'll pull you right out of there." And then if the guy were my friend, as soon as I pulled his machine out, he would have said thanks and then tried to drive through it again.
God bless hank
I love your videos

🔧🔧🔧
Boy you're very dangerous person tying that down. If that chain ever come loose that binder would come loose and it just might fall off and go through somebody's windshield
This guy needs dirt perfect to sort out drainage.
Try putting the dozer in travel
There's nothing to stop the cable from coming back through the windshield of the bobcat. It will happen. Please put some kind of a shield on it before you get hurt.

It's not the cable that's the problem, it's whatever heavy metal that is attached at the end of the cable. Raw cable alone is harmless, and will hit plenty of stuff before going through the glass. It's far more likely a shackle, quick-link, chain, or weld-on d-ring on what he's pulling will break loose, and slingshot into the bobcat. Bare cable isn't really the failure point or the danger. It's why so many offroaders die, they hook up a snatch strap to a ball hitch, which isn't meant for shock loads and breaks loose, and the snatch strap is a giant slingshot and shoots the ball or shackle into the recovering vehicle killing the driver.

@@dogsarebest7107have you ever seen a steel cable break? I have, and they go a long way, fast. They don't go straight either. The one that I watched break was on a flat bed car hauler. The guy operating the winch was standing by the side of the flat bed and got hit in the nose by the end of the cable. He hollared, bent down, and covered his face. He was in a lot of pain. When he finally let us look at his face he had one little blood spot where one of the strands of cable stuck in the end of his nose. He was blessed by God because as fast as that cable was going it could've taken his head off. The hook end with a short piece of cable attached went about 30 feet and hit the tongue of the trailer really hard. It all sounded like a gunshot. That's why they say to lay something on a cable in case it breaks. God bless you!
U should put a cage between u and that cable, those things do nasty things when they pop
what happen to your binders that you used a drill to tighten?

If that cable breaks it may come right in the cap ant going to be a good day
Snake, cool lunch for later.
Take Wallie with you walk-tell stories walkie talkie
Shouldn't you use weights in the middle of the wire to prevent the hook from flying straight into your face? dont think that wind shield will survive that hit :D

Depending on price of metal, we built this for less than $2k because we had some material already, but they sell for around $5k-$8k depending on the complexity of the build
