I felt sorry for Dan Burn and Collwill, both can play LB and CB so perfect combo and both played quite well all season etc

It was a crazy decision at the time and it’s an even crazier decision now we know Shaw won’t be fit enough 🤦‍♂️

Should of brought Mitchell - he even plays next to Guehi at Palace so you've got an established relationship straight away and Shaw isn't miles ahead of him anyway

Everyone is avoiding the real issue; the problem is Declan Rice, he is not a press resistant CDM like Rodri. when England are pressed they lose the ball, he doesn't recycle the ball well enough under pressure or in transition. he makes trent and Foden look bad

I don't think it's Rice.... They don't know what they are doing because the manager has set them up in such a bizarre way - in the second half he never had an out ball. I could see his frustration. Gomez can play left back. But southgate won’t use him. He prefers trippier because he’s more defensive minded than Gomez. The problem is trippier doesn’t have the legs anymore and can’t venture too deep into the opposition’s final third anymore. This is why we are disconnected on the left side.

History just keeps repeating itself in England taking injured players to tournaments and don't recover. Picking one injured player is one too many, why handicap the squad at the outset. Southgate took Luke Shaw, 4 players from Crystal Palace, and a lot of first timers, and left at home ,the biggest shock to me was Grealish, then he never took Rashford Sterling, he has tried to change the squad to quick, and it is not working, them 3 players have so much talent. Southgate is playing Arnold in midfield, he is not a midfielder, he is a right bake ,but he would have been fighting for that place with Walker. Not to take Grealish is a disgrace and is coming back to haunt Southgate, i believe he never took Grealish because he don't like him and maybe the same with Rashford. Look at the last world cup, he dropped Rashford ,brought him on as a sub, and he scored, so he played Rashford in the next game, and he scored another two goals, then when it came to the next game, Rashford should have played again, but no that good for nothing Southgate dropped him again.
