This is a partial video of the Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test for STS-26 which happened 09-08-1988 and aired on NASA Select (Now NASA TV) STS-26 was the first shuttle launch after the Challenger disaster. This video was recorded on MII broadcast videotape, the original source was composite video off of a satellite feed. The video was captured as component video (MII is a component format and automatically separates composite or S-Video into component). The video was played back on a Panasonic AU-65H MII editing VTR, then run through a DPS transcoder to correct the component video levels, this signal was then recorded as a 10 bit YUV 4:2:2 signal on Digital Betacam, then captured with an SDI capture device. The resulting Prores file was edited in Final Cut Pro and rendered out through Compressor.
