i agree with you, regardless if you focus on calcs purely ,the basic skills of drawing either by HAND SKETCHING or computer based must not be forgotten

It would be cool if you made some videos where we could create some of the spreadsheet you showed together with you and explained the formulas that should be added to each box. I really like your videos it is helping a lot ! Thank you

You didn't mention RAM structural system. I find it the most efficient choice for designing all of the beam/joist framing for a floor or roof. It won't replace what a good 3D analysis tool can do, but a good 3D analysis tool is not as good or efficient for designing all of the members of a floor.

i only mention the software I personally used or have tried. I know there are loads of other software that does the exact same things as the ones i've mentioned.

Good video! Does Notion have dedicated iOS / iPadOS apps now? Last time I checked they were just proxies for the browser client.

Thanks 🙂 yeah they have dedicated iOS apps. I find the dedicated app or browser works a bit better, not surprised, but iOS app not too bad, there’s room for improvement.

I use Python for calcs and plotting, in the past I used excel though. but Python is the future in my opinion .tedds floating licence can be cool if the workflow justify the annual licence

Kind of curious as why have you used the 3d Analysis out from TSD and calcs from Excel. I believe TSD summary output is not that bad either and looks better in terms of presentation.

I will use tekla output but sometimes you need to verify output from analysis software. You can’t always trust it. Having an excel sheet handy can be good for quick calcs when you haven’t built a model yet.

@@EverydayDazz I agree but creating TSD model for preliminary section sizes doesn't take much time in my opinion. It is probably quicker than excel sheet but I guess that depends on personal preference.
