I was fortunate enough to meet him when I was a kid he was performing at yarmouth hippodrome circus when Moscow state circus were on tour made a lasting impression on me.

Great documentary. You can visit this kind of story any time you need inspiration in life, there are a lot of people out there with amazing experiences that are unheard of and its very nice to see this.

This made me cry so much, so inspiring truly a remarkable man and a true role model. I have never been so astonished in my life. Truly the most impressive feats I have ever witnessed. I am grateful to share the planet with Valentin. I like to lift weights as a hobby so I understand just how impressive these numbers are. Its people like this that inspire you to believe in yourself. Very pleased to have watched this video and this deserves to have so many more views.

Documentation says his mother died giving birth. Wikipedia says His mother Anna Korneyevna (1925-1952) was Russian by nationality, and died when Valentin was still in kindergarten

He stopped taking in patients personally a while ago. As for clinics that use his technique you can translate their websites through google.

I wonder how medically legit he was. His story is wonderful and he has incredible will, but obviously not all paralysis is the same. Wonder if his patients walked again. Update: The man in the documentary was never able to walk using Dikul's treatment.

@@docukino I'm hoping I can find some accounts of those that did. From what I've read in the past vertebrae can heal ofc, but what he's done is build muscle in possibly severed nerves. Pretty incredible, and incredibly difficult when a vertebrae is completely severed rather than broken. Dikul definitely has trained his core and back a ton.

he also helped christopher reeve....but that documentary seems to have gone AWOL...if anybody knows where it is ..do tell. This guy is AMAZING.

@@docukino yes absolutely 100 percent positive..this is how i heard of this man..through a chris reeves documentary many years ago..except in that doc they actually drove a wagon onto dickul when he as in crab position...i was always amazed ..he built a harness for chris and everything ..but nobody elses seems to know about it ..even the christopher reeves foundation.

Sounds like a fairly tale to me. Maybe he got a wrong diagnosis after his accident. Or then he was a phony. Or maybe im wrong. Who knows
