my strategy was...sell all resources, build some hovels, buy around 100 horse archers and 40 assassins (takes some time)...kill yellow, then orange, then split up archers and send to last 2...takes about 10 minutes if you move quickly

Well, kinda did a speedrun of macemen rush where I buy as much maces and leather armor and bought about 50 macemen and just go aggro on the main lord from the north, then north easter, then west and lastly the south. I kinda thought that my plan would backfire against the last Sultan since he already enclosed his keep, so I built two round towers and hired archer mercenaries, but somehow my remaining macemen made it through and killed the last Sultan lord.

I didn't even consider trying to actually build a castle in this level. Much easier to just market/mercenary rush the bots. Straight assassin/maceman rushes of the Sultan often fail because he typically keeps 2-3 fire throwers in the keep. A few patches of fire can absolutely wreck 40+ assassins, and while you might snipe 1 Sultan you'll lose momentum and won't be able to snipe the remaining 3. What I was able to do was: 1) Hire ~20-25 Horse Archers once initial houses/granary placed. Send these to lower left Sultan and start killing off his military units. You shouldn't need more than 25 horse archers for this. The Sultan typically recruits Swordsmen and Slingers in response to aggression so, don't overspend here. You don't need to kill all the units, but try to thin out the slingers and specifically make sure you focus down any fire throwers. 2) Market buy equipment to make about 45 macemen. Rush out about 30 of them and send them directly to lower left Sultan. You could also probably use assassins, but Macemen are faster and that helps in this mission. 3) If you've cleared out the fire throwers and drawn some of the swordsmen away from the keep with your horse archers, 30 macemen should be more than enough to charge in and bash the first Sultan. Since the Sultan gets so much starting gold, you should get a 2500+ gold infusion once he goes down. Use this to buy 10-15 additional horse archers and 15-20 additional macemen. 4) Move your horse archers over to the next Sultan and work your way around the board counter-clockwise. Focus down the firethrowers and you should be able to rapidly clear the next 2 Sultan with your maceman ball before the walls are complete. 5) The last Sultan may complete his walls and get some archers in his high towers, but this is nothing a pair of siege towers won't fix. Again, make sure to get your horse archers close to the walls and focus fire any fire throwers in the keep.

those knights and sultan are just massive overkill to kill a lord you just need 15 or 10 assassins to kill a lord just clear out any range or melee troops

Much easier with crossbowman's instead of archers in the beginning.

Easy mission. While I think ☝🏾 plays well, the change I'd make is instead of building tall towers like he does, just build round towers, and use your extra gold (~7k) to buy bows, archers, and balistas for the towers. That's a lot of gold. Spend it. Put one tower (buy stone why not) at each corner of your stronghold, walling in the stone and wood. Once your stronghold is safe, each tower defended, build a tower close to each of the enemies, and you'll rain arrows down at them, crippling each one's econony and killing all their ranged units. You can then freely mine the stone and iron deposits to sell it & buy all the bread/ale and weapons you want to build any troops you want to destroy the enemy lords however you want (catapults, assassins, swordsmen, macemen, doesn't matter). The enemies are all pushovers with maybe 15 melee units alive if any. So it looks tough on the map, but really it's one of the easiest missions in the game since you can build towers and fire arrows into each enemy castle pretty much without opposition. If you want, I expect you can even skip building walls, just put and fill towers close to each enemy Lord, cut the bottom of the stairs off to protect vs attack, and watch your archers kill every enemy unit. Go take a nap, come back an hour later, and the game will be a victory.

i consider that invest some horse archer is better, cause can outrange that slingers, that fuckers have armoour piercing attacks, so u must tear down fast

I think, he keeps in mind it. The mechanic of popylarity in Stronghold has some specific: if popularity very low - it will rise on some value automatically with propose to prevent on trapping in so called "low popularity trap", whan you castle is abbadoned and you have not a possibility to get out of this shit. So, i think, that's why he does not worry about granary so much. P.S. English is not my native language.

welp he was a noob to make a circle with spears.you should have attacket one side of his circle and kept you cav on the oposet side so he cant flank you.But please post at the liest one battle replay .!!!!!!

I know these are pretty old but you made this a lot more complicated than it should of been, 1 tower outside of each of their bases with 10-15 crossbows in each. you can beat this mission in 5-10 minutes

Waaay too much hassle.. mass horse archers and assassins would do the trick fast.. btw, use woodhuts to block opp's gate, this will stop them from expanding and give you time to build your defences / siege forces.
