Small note: Chaptermaster can nominate himself for the full re-roll of hits. This makes the most sense for a Space Wolves army with the +1 to hit because his normal captain aura will suffice but it might have some applicability to Black Templars as well. I'm new to the righteous zealotry stuff. Don't be too rough.

The captain in Phobos was a surprise. I never thought of it that way. Very cool video!

Great video, lads. Hearing yall's comments on the Phobos Captain makes me even more interested in getting that Space Marine Battleforce box even if it does come at the cost of not being able to bring that lovely Indomitus Captain.

great video, as always. Could you do a video where you compare black templars to, for example, blood angels. I feel like blood angels or space wolves are stronger/more competetive than black templars.

Is it worth running a patrol detachment alongside a battalion in order to get 2 extra HQ's at the cost of going from 12 cp to 10 cp? I was thinking helbrecht, grimaldus, emperors champion, lieutenant, and another chaplain

Thoughts on the apothecary? I was thinking it might be nice with our terminators or bladeguard vets.

Yeah, we talked about our special characters in the Black Templars PDF review, so we felt we were safe skipping over them this time.

Yep, they skipped them, but to anonymusly (lol) answer your question, Helbrecht is a must have (Above all other captains options), his +1 S is a must for these days. Emps. champ is a good chioce to any lists, but for comp, you need to think twice, you only have 3 hq coices averadge so think about what you can bring in his place. Grimaldus is... we love him, but not the best. Bring what the guys told us in the video. Keep it up Implausble Nature! Big love from Hungary!

Back in the olden days the Champ’ didn’t even take up an HQ slot as far as I remember. He was basically an auto-take because of this, as he should be regardless of his stats if we’re trying to be fluffy

Would master swordsman for a captain also be a worthy trait?

iirc that trait needs the keyword Sword Brethren from the specialist detachment, which is no longer usable in competitive play

@Destruct30 As the others have mentioned, it's no longer tournament legal...which is a shame, as it was my go-to warlord trait (besides Frontline Commander). Our HQs have become more focused on buffing out other units now, though...so it has become a little bit less of a blow to lose it.

I have been playing around with the idea of a witch hunter phobos captain myself for a while. But a sniper captain in a BT army? Sounds an awful lot like heresy 🤣
