Just a tip, it would be nice if you would add some slides or some graphics of the stats whwn you talk about stuff. It would exponentially improve the quality of the videos and get newcomers more involved for sure. :)

Perfekt Video! I always loved my kitbashed Thunderhammer Termies and got good results with a ten men blob. Rly hard to shift those. Ten hold rly good against 15 Custodes. And in combination with AoC … i just lovem

I would highly suggest/recommend that any one running this type of detatchment to have a normal chaplain in their army in case the terminator brick is battle shocked some how. the chaplain can un-battleshock a friendly unit within 12. i run a foot chaplain with sword brethren and its always 12 inches away ready to un battleshock

No escape has become one of my favorite strats, especially into warrior/immortal blobs as it's absolutely lethal into big block units. You'll kill a quarter of the block with the escape test, at least.

This is well timed! I just bought and started painting a terminator captain and was planning to try him out with 5 assault termies I have, but after watching this I started kitbashing an Ancient and I'm looking at adding 5 more models. Would you give them all stormshields? No lightning claws at all?

Dark Angels player here. Great insight on how to use terminators! Can definitely use some of the strategies talked about here with my own rules and strategems.

I've got so many termies. I've got 10 each of Tartaros and Cataphractii and a box each of assault and regular. I also have a Deathwing Box I've been seriously considering converting to Templars.

Amazing video thank you for the insight. I have been trying them out playing in a crusade. I have a better idea of how to play terminators as a BT player 😊

12:15 Am I missing something? Terminator Chaplain is 5W, +1W for storm shield, where do you get the 7th wound from?

Another great video guys!!! Based on the last live stream David was on, I bought some additional terminators off of eBay to go with my 5 man from the Leviathan box. I do have two questions from this video: 1, if you max out your advance roll are you moving 11” or only 10” given their 5” move? 2, the only custom weapons I have for my 10 man squad is the assault cannons. In a tournament how stickler are the with weapon load outs? Can I say those 2 models actually have the missile packs or can I only play them as assault cannons? As always, thanks for the advice and finger crossed new scale assault models are on the horizon.

I've got 5 Cataphractii all with chain fists. They look pretty sweet but I just don't think they're gonna do all that much. I don't field them.

I was playing this 3 metas ago. Why would I put T bones on a terminator chaplain when i have a Lt. leading my sword breathren that would benefit them greater. SB dominate terminators in offense and with t-bones, they get tanky and essential act the way we wanted our terminators to act

I will be the first to defend Sword Brethren. But like Alex and I say often, it's a different role for your list. It has offensive spike damage, but it is MUCH more durable. If you face the mirror, you know what takes the unit down -- just negate them. ~Bob~

No, terminators that have a storm shield themselves get an extra wound. This is an ability on their datasheet for taking the shield.

I have been thinking about running a captain and ancient in an assault terminator blob using tbones on the ancient and sigismunds seal on the captain. That way you can use fervent acclimation to get those thunder hammers getting exploding hits on 5+. Hopefully you are going against an oath target.

Fervent Acclamation does not trigger the secondary part of Sig seal or TBones, your army must have taken that vow at the start for that to work. ~Alex

​@ImplausibleNature I have not played templars much in 10th, so maybe I do not understand the mechanics. If you chose uphold as you vow, that tiggers the 5+ fnp for the unit correct? If you use fervent acclimation to place accept any challenge on the unit, do they not get exploding hits on 5+ for the unit?

They would not get the bonus from Sig seal if uphold is your vow. This is because of the wording of those enhancements states that it must have been the voe selected for your army for it to trigger.

@@ImplausibleNature thank you for taking the time to explain that. I understand now. Helbrecht's ability would still trigger on 5+ in the same scenario though if he was leading something like sword brethren though correct? Since there is no mention about a specific vow needing to be active?

Correct, Helbrecht just triggers crit hits on a 5+ regardless

In terms of durability C'Tan Nightbringer has 12W T11 4+ Invuln 5+FNP Half-Damage and Restores D3 Wounds for 255 points. In terms of Melee attack it's either 14A 2+ S8 -2AP 2 Dmg OR 6A 2+ S14 -4AP D6 Dmg. It's shooting is also insane D3A 2+ 12 -2AP D6+3 Dmg

Definitely true, however C'tan get punked by sword bros because of how modifiers work so their damage 1 weapons still become 2. ~Alex

@@ImplausibleNature Good to know. It seems that for the top armies, they have units that are heads and shoulders above everything else. For example for Grey Knights before the last Balance Slate no one was using DreadKnights in competitive lists. Now GK lists have 3-5 DreadKnights. I think because of the lack of granularity of a D6 dice, a +1 in anything (WS, BS, Dmg etc) is huge. For BT, Sword Brethren seems to be the unit I'd spam, paired with the appropriate leader.

Also worth noting. The Ctan Do Not have the Psyker keyword to activate Abhor unfortunately.

Great Video. I like to run the Chaplain with Sigismund’s seal and normal Terminators. I have the Accept Any Challenge Vow active and activate Lethal Hits with a CP in the command phase. If I chose an oath target to attack I get hit re-rolls with plus 1 to hit and 5-6 are critical hits giving a sustained and lethal and I get +1 to wound with the squad so 50% of the hits or more will wound. I only choose Accept Any Challenge as I usually run Helbrecht with a Lieutenant and that gives him lethal and sustained hits on a 5-6 also.

Terminator squad special rule “Fury Of The First”. (Add 1 to your hit roll that targets your Oath target).

Just to add the plus 1 to hit cannot trigger the critical hit.

Assault termies do not have that rule, but if you are using regular termies then yes

since Death Guard is into the META i dont play them anymore... -1 to hit because of Nurglings, so much Mortal wounds and all the close combat
