This is another classic Fury interview, brilliant in hindsight. I love the part on fans and their attitude towards fighters when they’re struggling; so very true. I loved Tyson before the Klitschko fight and I was so happy when he won that fight. As soon as he put on weight and had problems everyone said he was no good, that he was an idiot etc. - I had so many arguments with people who said that Joshua would batter him etc. look at the ‘fans’ now. Fury has never changed, it’s just perception. Fury was brilliant at the time of this interview, he was brilliant when he beat Klitschko and he’s brilliant now. The only difference is that he’s had some tough times and he’s come through his struggles and found what makes him feel content. Lovers of sport need to treat athletes like human beings and stop kicking people when they’re down - it’s the same with Joshua now, I’ve never rated him highly, but so many did and now they’ve turned on him. If you supported a sportsperson when they’re on top you should still appreciate them when they have a difficult period.

Really hope Tyson doesn't retire if he loses, he's a huge character and boxing will be for the worse if he does. I'd love to see him give wilder a pasting and a future fight with AJ. I don't believe Tysons mindset when he says wining and legacy means nothing because everyone is a has-been despite their achievements. History remembers them and they inspire generations to come. A champion could never be a has-been, people remember them and I think Tyson will be a very difficult person to forget.

Brian Neilson from Denmark was 52-0 when he fought Mike Tyson in 2000. Fury is right about 49-0 only counts for heavyweights... much more risk of KO's
