Stroke

A stroke occurs when blood flow has been obstructed to the brain. Checking for symptoms of a stroke can be done by using the acronym F.A.S.T. Facial droop, arm listing, slurred speech, and time when symptoms began. It is important to get medical treatment quickly to help the affected patient regain as much quality of life as possible.

He did the job the ambulance would otherwise have done. He can present them with a patient showing FAST symptoms and a very rough time frame for the onset. That's extremely valuable. If he hadn't done that, the ambulance crew would have. This way, they can save time and get ready for transport quicker, especially if she would not have been as cooperative towards strangers.

I would have been on the emergency line immediately if I saw the same patient, he's calmly explaining to her that he identified symptoms before he calls lmao

Both are in use. Just do both. Call an ambulance and try to figure out the time it began. If it is within a certain time frame (depending on local protocol, it is a few hours), certain therapies can be attempted. If it is a clot, medication may be used within that time frame to dissolve it. If the time frame has passed, surgical procedures or, failing that, damage control may be the only options.
