Just received the MK2 version and there’s no frosted diffuser.it so much clearer and no light bleed out of the back near the mounting area. 👍🏾

Thank you for this review, been shopping around for a gobo snoot and forgot about this model, love how you can use a lens to focus sharper. Have you tried this with a AD600pro? Wonder if the flashbulb will fit.

My pleasure! I've tried it on my ad600 and it fits fine. There is lots of space inside the chamber for a bulb to be inserted in.

Dammm ! Compré el mismo y tengo un flash sk400 y me requiere tirar a 1/2 o 1/1 para tener buenos resultados, me da miedo tanta potencia necesaria .. lo estoy usando con un 85mm 1.8 ... Y necesito un lente más angular como un 35mm f 2.0 .... Pregunta no uso la Luz de modulado alogeno porque temo que pueda derretir el snoot..

Thank you so much! Oh...one question...does the body get very hot over a little time using it? Say over an hour of shooting with constant light or flash?

I've used it only with Flash and didn't notice any over heating. I've got another video coming up with constant light and snoots, stay tuned!

i have the first version and it’s been far more frustrating in work arounds, than what it should be for what it cost. I too bought a 3rd-party lens because the Strobepro’s mount stability is so leery. Also, if you’re not using an aperture wider than 2.8, you’re basically unable to see your strobe’s modeling light at all. Total waste of time and money... version 2 looks like the lesser of 2 evils.

Hi! I'm not sure if this has been asked or discussed, but what kind of lens mount does the snoot have? Can i use any canon mount lens?

Any canon lens will do. I'm using a Tamron lens made for Canon.

so you can't change the angle of the projected pattern? like rotate it?

Not easily. You have to dismount it from the strobe then you rotate by reconnecting the 3 inserts. You have very little wiggle room to turn it inside the light. If you are using Profoto, it's much simpler due to the circular mount of the strobes.

Thanks for the review. Btw I guess you can create your own gobos with cinefoil, no thickness issue ;)

I have thought about but didn't test it so I wouldn't talk about it in the video. My only concern is the rigidity of the cinefoil, it bends a lot and won't create ultra sharp lines

I've just tried. It works just fine! Since you have to cut a small square for your holder, it won't bend. Then yes, if you want sharp edges of the shape you cut, better be very precise with your cut. Any imperfections will show up. But if you blur it with the lens focusing, it just do the job! 😉
