I did this exact thing to a 78. It was a long haul. I dropped a 300 inline 6 cylinder engine in it. Best engine I ever used in 40 years in a Bronco.

We’re about to start on a 78 bronco that we’d found 20yrs later after my dad had passed.! She’s in rough shape, However it wasn’t something we’d thought we’d ever find so the restoration is not anything we’re familiar with and gonna have to learn as we go.

Aaron mate, build a bridge and get over it. Ford v's Chev is an over-used argument..and neither side is ever going to agree. As long as a car looks nice and/or drives well you should appreciate it if you like cars (which I think that you do). This includes Mopar as well. Stay safe.

Lugs are an inaccurate way to align the front end, raise each wheel off the ground, rotate the tire while using a grinder and a zippy blade to make a minute groove full circle as close to center as possible, use a jack stand or milk carton to steady the grinder, place a piece of plastic under the tire and spray with wd, repeat on the other side. With the truck back on the ground wiggle the steering wheel to neutral tires, Measure the front and back groove for a true number, 1/8 inch of toe in is a great place to start and far more accurate tan lugs. congrats, you just saved a hundred bucks.

i have an 87 ford bronco that im rebuilding its got a (as far as i know) stock 302, it had aircon but- it also had cruise control but like the ac the owner before my grandpa who is the one who drove it last, took those out, so ac rebuild, cruise control sat out in a rat infested barn for a few years so yeah wiring issues and it sat outside under a oak tree and hail.... so lots of rust damage i need a roof on it now but its fine other than fuel system issues (new tank ect) it also had a 4 barel put on it but..... yeah it was never used as a 4 barel, the linkage was taken off so it was a 4 barel that had been converted to a 2 barel it also had an after market oil pressure gauge put in oh and did i mention the fact that in the 15 years my grandpa has had that 10 ro so of which where it being used as a daily driver. it never had any fluid changes and theres over 750k miles acording to the odm yeah ima probably need to ship that trans off for a rebuild if i change that oil ... also tar oil and presumably (judging by the lack of proper care to certan parts of the truck) the dif fluid in both difs and probably the transfercase... yeah ill do a full oil change on everything after i do all the other crap i need to do

After reading through the comments I remember why I quit watching This TV series ('TRUCKS'). This could be considered a budget build - as compared to paying someone else to do it, or buying someone else's and then having to redo half of what they did. Builds like this can be done - by one person - in the driveway/garage at home, but it's a Monstrous Project that takes months to finish, it's not "toss it all together in no time" like EVERY EPISODE of 'TRUCKS' wanted people to believe. (I did a few, myself, it's a WHOLE LOT of hard work) I love how he rattles the cam into the block like he's stirring a can of house paint - nothing like having to tear the engine back out and down and put ANOTHER set of cam bearings in because the ones that are all nicked up killed the oil pressure at idle. (roll the engine upside down so you can SEE what you're doing) There were a few good tips throughout the series, but not every episode. Yup, this series was "this is so easy" while they hacked and slashed away for the cameras - something to fill the spaces between the commercials I guess.
