Looking for a scrappier look? Zach's got a great scrappy pattern here! kzread.info/dash/bejne/hIxot6SaaNCaosY.html
My favorite thing about the videos on this channel? No rules! I see you guys do do many things the “wrong” way and your quilts turn out beautiful. It makes it easy for beginners (I think) when they can follow along and have a project without being intimidated by all the “thou shalt not’s”. They can learn that later if they want.

I completely agree with you! I've heard that you're "supposed to" sew two strips together, and sew another two strips together, and sew the two sets of two together. Instead of just adding a strip as you go. I love that he did it that way though because yeah- not everything has to be "done the right way!"

Zach! Thank you for saying orient the pieces, instead of orientate them! Ohhhhhh huge pet peeve of mine! Especially when people say orientated, instead of oriented! You don’t know how many people I hear saying it incorrectly! ❤️❤️❤️

how do you determine where the 1/4” is with the pinked edges?
@SewYeah
9 ай бұрын
You can measure from the "peak" of the edge to get the most out of your fabric, or from the "valley" of the edge if you want to be on the safe side. Try both and see which you like more!
Are you ironing seams open or to the darker side
@dcwatashi
Жыл бұрын
From one of the close-up shots he was not pressing the seams open. I think if you sew at a stitch length of 2 cm you probably could press the seams open so everything would lay flat especially because there’s a lot going on in the middle of the four block quilt block
@SewYeah
Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! It is your preference. We sometimes iron the seams open, and sometimes to the dark side, depending on the fabric being used. Which ever you prefer is great. Happy quilting!
