Yes, you do what is best for you and your family. You are under NO obligation whatsoever to the general public / knitting community to do anything for us. What gives you joy and is feasible is freely given, I thank you for that - with no expectations!

The white fades out the beauty of the gorgeous blue on the porcelain sweater. You should use the same blue but by itself as a solid color. . It’s shockingly beautiful on its own.

I’m a newer subscriber here, also a first time SAHM, a newer knitter, and “new” to marriage (~3yrs). And just hearing how you talk about your relationship to your husband, hobby, and home was so healing and empowering. Thanks for opening up in this area! I’m so so glad I found you! I feel like I can relate so much.

So fun hearing a shout out to my local yarn shop! It is literally one street up from where I live. 🎉 Briggs and little softens beautifully and I feel like when you’re knitting you can feel the lanolin in the yarn!

I would be there all the time if I lived that close! Briggs is definitely an under-rated yarn and I hope to use more in the future.

Thanks for your reflective episode. It’s good that you are monitoring and reacting to your feelings about the swatches. Setting aside or abandoning is part of the creative process, and not all of us are good at that. Take your knitting on the ferry of course. Maybe you won’t get it out of the bag, but it’s good to have the backup! 😊

I think the bright blue yarn would make an amazing Oslo hat! It’s always fun to have a bright winter accessory ❤

As a mom, who's also home.. I just want to validate all those feelings. I cannot tell you how true they are for the frustration levels when you want to work on something you want but the kiddo needs you, or making it fair for them.. All of what you said was just a 1000% true from my perspective too. I'm also trying to limit and fix the wips I have. I just have too much! All the best and happy holidays! -Kimberly

Lovely episode as usual, I hope you have some great downtime with your family! Btw, after soaking my knits I like to put them in the washing machine on a drain and spin cycle! It takes out a lot of water, saves me from having to make the towel-sweater burrito, and my knits dry very fast afterwards!

Thank you! I wish I could use my washing machine, but it doesn't have a spin-only cycle ☹.

I’ve seen a few people who made the Porcelain sweater in brown tones. It looks amazing! I wasn’t attracted to the blue either but now I’m tempted to do it in different colours. Have a wonderful month off!

Glad you got a win, love that you have used Canadian milled yarn ,Briggs and little, and custom woollen Mills. Wise women, take care, take knitting, be prepared! The ferry could get stuck, or something, and if you didn’t have knitting you’d be so annoyed! Enjoy your December, happy holidays ❄️, 🎄 .

I think the blue hat will look great on you, it seems gorgeous just holding up that yarn near your hair and face. I was very moved by your thoughts on specifically reserving focus this month to aid in your husband’s reset… sending positive energy to you and yours to really rest up well!

Taking time for your family it’s a really good idea, that your husband voiced out the need of reset being someone the way you described him is probably a way of kind of asking for help to get there. Enjoy your time off and support your husband finding balance. Happy holidays!!

I’m knitting on the Sweet Shop Blanket at the moment, and I suggest you do the left & right squares first, so when you pick it up you only have the top squares to do.

As a creative person, I relate to the experience of swatching or sampling a make (for painting, sewing, or knitting) and being let down by the result. In my head I'm like, "Dang I thought this was gonna be great!". Sometimes abandoning ideas is part of the creative process. Great video!

Yes, these "failures" are indeed part of the process. I try to be more positive and remind myself that they are learning opportunities and growth in the craft too. Thanks so much for watching!
