Thank you for this comparison, very helpful. I have the Stripe Hype sweater pattern and I like it so much that I knit it twice. The pattern is very easy to follow, I really like how Veronika Lindberg formats her patterns in a way that you don't get lost and can pick up straight away again. As you implied, this pattern is perfect for either using scraps or yarns of which you have smaller amounts of and don't quite know what to do with them. Highly recommend! In any case, knitting stripes will always be addictive and I feel that striped sweaters knit up in no time :)

I really appreciate how neutral you are in your comparisons and how you encourage us to look beyond the pretty photos at the actual features in the pattern.

Thanks! I often have to remind myself to not be fooled by marketing. Looking at other project photos other than the designers can be helpful too.

Hi Melissa! I really enjoy these comparison videos, and also your pattern analyses videos of sweaters that you knit… your careful consideration of what went right and what went wrong is SO HELPFUL to me when I’m considering knitting a particular pattern. My only suggestion to you when you’re doing side-by-side comparison videos like this one is, when you’re putting up photos… please leave them on the screen a little longer. Since I like to watch and knit, I’m often watching my knitting while you talk and then when you put up a photo, I stop knitting to look at the photo, but your photos disappear so quickly I often miss them. Keep up the great video content! Your channel is one of my favorites! 🙋🏼‍♀️❤️

I like the recommended ease on the Spirit Week Stripes, and I also just love anything marketed with an academic vibe, sooo when I eventually knit one of these that's probably what made the decision for me. Thanks for a really interesting video!

Can confirm that Stripe Hype has no short rows or back shaping, as knitting it at the mo! I am going to knit the sibling sweater after for less ease and a different look 🙂

Thanks for this helpful video. There are so many similar patterns out there and I pay attention to the back/shoulders as there are certain elements I prefer over others. 12:29 does just that.

Hi, I can confirm there are no short rows for the stripe hype. I think the shoulder shaping is done through the picking up of stitches and shaping the neckline 😊
