They grow on other things like tree bark and or volcanic rock :-)

I just loved spending this 1/2 hour with you and learning so much about this beautiful plant. I was gifted 2 of them in March and they are doing well, but I wanted more information about keeping them alive and propagating them. Your laid back style of sharing was fun. I subscribed before you started talking..I had my string of turtles die on me after a mouse ate some of it..now on to my second plant so fingers crossed this one lives..I need to invest in some self watering pots.thank you for the awesome info....cheers from SA..Adelaide..

Shit grows good in Brisbane.... Turtles love humid as hell or you can keep spraying them with a good mist.

I don't mist anything 😀 leads to leaf rot on other plants. All my plants live humidity of at least 60% every day with humidifiers 😊

Girl I'm doing the propagation just like you said in the video and little leaves are having tiny roots :D I'm having a problem though... the sphagnum moss is coming back to life and taking over a bit, what do I do? ! :(

I had this, I just left it, less light might help as the moss loves loots of light. You can pick out any really green bits of moss but really it shouldnt hurt, mine was green and gross before they grew all over it 😂

my cat is also called Murphy. Good name! Also, my String Of Turtles has no pattern on the leaves. Do you think it might have been miss-labelled in the shop?

Where do you get your selfwatering pots and would this method work on other strings of?

Did you dampen the soil mixture before putting the moss on top?

No, I don't, but my soil never comes out of it's storage bin bone dry. However no extra wetting used no 😊

Is your sphagnum moss the same kind you can get for lizards? Does it matter what brand it is?

From what I have heard it is all the same stuff 😊 no I don't think brand matters at all. I have only ever seen one brand but you can even grow it yourself if you are really committed/have the ability 😊

I thought you were English and I got excited thinking that I can grow those plants here in Scotland because the sunlight isn't that different but then you said 40 degrees and now I think you're Australian and my heart's broken

Aww sorry, yeah Australian, and near the freshly closed ozone hole sorry 😅 but grow lights are amazing helps in low light ❤
