@@JonL-bb3ol The China that was ‘years ago’ is day and night compared to today. What’s there to dispute when he hasn’t quoted anything to backup his wild statements? His comments about sanctioning Chinese banks reflect his lack of appreciation of the ripple effects worldwide. When US sanctioned Russian banks, it triggered de-dollarization worldwide. When China started dumping US bonds and started buying gold, other countries followed suit. In Q1, China offloaded some $53B in US treasury; many countries including Belgium that is friendly to US also dumped US treasury. Senator Rand Paul recently lambasted Blinken for using only the ‘stick’ and neglected the ‘carrot’ in his dealings with China. Meanwhile, JW advocates using a bigger stick. Whether JW is perceived as a kid or a giant is simply a reflection on one’s depth on the subject matter.

To look at what happened , you need see big picture from World War Two: the allies which consist of 4 big boys US/Russia/ China/UK fight with axis Germany/ Japan. During the war period before Germany/Japan surrendered, 4 big boys have meeting and decide who are entitled to what kind of benefits: at that time, they agree China take Taiwan back from Japan. Russia will take Sakhalin from Japan and some territory from Germany as well. In terms of Japan, they also agreed to occupy one main island each of Japan’s 4 main islands. However US did not keep promise and now want to take them all. That is why Russia and China are not happy about US.

I'd say there are three Israeli English speaking channels that mention the Putin Pact on a daily basis. It's constantly mentioned on all European English speaking channels. Russian ambitions to return to the USSR and China trade are constant topics of discussion in Europe.

@@the_village_elder The thing that is generally wrong with the right-wing way of doing things is it's extreme and seldom has ever worked, but that doesn't stop them from trying. Whether you like it, or not, the US made decisions about China a long time ago when the GOP sent our jobs there and the Dems kept begging for 'Buy American' for our entire voting lives. Now the only immediate concern is to screw the Dems by blaming China on them. The Republicans aren't going to stop catering to their elites, so their interest in China is just a diversion. Regarding their sovereignty doesn't make sense, because all decisions of a country are done that way. The what is wrong part depends on the decision.

The US is still in a deep sleep, hegemony US should just have some balls to decouple from China. China's market is 4 to 5 times the size of the US, can US still able to contain China? US can still continue to dream on.

Both parties are to blame, they sent our manufacturing over seas for short term profit. Now long term security is at risk. These corporations and politicians are complicit and should be held on criminal charges

No, your conservative ideology of unlimited free market and free trade did this. Don't blame it on Democrats who have always been protectionists and supportive of workers as opposed to corporate-controlled Republicans.

I would love to see how well those cheap Chinese electric cars would last through a Moscow winter . Russia and China are both countries that would rather sit back and watch their alie fail and then go in and pick their bones . The fact is that even just the two of them alone would not make it without world trade, and the sanctions and tariffs on their economies would eventually be their downfall . In order for there to be a new world order run by the United Nations, they need to remove these oligarchs and monarchs to make the changes they want to make on the planet.

Removing Russia and China from the UN? They are both in the Security Council, which is the strongest body of the UN (it's the body which can veto any UN resolution). You need to make a brand new organization for the world order if you don't want them to be in. But to be honest, there's a grim prospect for a united world order since the world is getting more divided unlike what the liberals in the '90s dreamt of (Fukuyama's The End of History etc.).

Then why does China care to export to US? Why can't it stop selling to US? It's true that China buys US bonds. But it's also true US consumers pay salary to Chinese peasants by buying their products. China and its economy are nothing without giant Western markets.
