    Keith, this is the best introduction to this program I have seen on line. Your a natural in front of a camera as well as behind your gun. Thanks for doing this! Can you make another just talking about how you got the .30 set up tuned and ammo selection? I would love to follow along with all the settings on my .30 to see if I can benefit from all your hard work in setting up what is one of top most accurate PCP’s available today.

    Great job! As a newbie, it was "...clear as mud but it covered the ground". I saved this and will go back over it again and again. I have been away from shooting for over 20 years and feel like a complete neophite - so much has changed. I am starting again with a CZ455 22LR as my trainer and hope to move up to a .308 or Creemore in the not too distant future. Your video helped a lot.

    Thanks for making this video man! I wondered why I could be on from 10 - 70 yards, but beyond that it would start falling off... but if I lowered the BC to correct it, then it's off at the closer ranges. I knew the same pellet can have different bc's depending on the speed, but didn't realize that it was changing while it was in flight! Thanks!!!

    Nice to see your beard didn’t change during the video....this was an awesome video. Super timely. I’ve watched a lot of shooters talking about this program in the last few months, including you guys. Started watching quite a few recent videos on how to use it. I’ve always had a written DOPE book for each of my guns. What each does at typical ranges, etc, etc. Paid the $11-12 and down loaded it a week ago. Almost have my Gauntlet loaded in it. You cleared up some of the questions I’ve ran into. I’ll still keep a written book, but this is excellent for “instant, right now”. Thank you again. Another awesome vid. Have fun checking each other for ticks 😁. I had to actually back up after the cow thing. Got me laughing pretty good.

    @@68Whiskey Some of my closer range shots don’t match StrelokPro calculations. I’m wondering if my scope to barrel measurement is incorrect. My method was to measure the distance from the top of the scope objective to the bottom of the barrel shroud. I then subtracted half of the shroud diameter and half of the objective’s diameter. Is there a better way?

    Thanks for the video Keith. I certainly learned some new things about using Strelok from the video. I am not clear whether the program actually adds the calculation of the wind direction slug deflection and spin drift to the final solution it gives. If so then is it a matter of holding for the windage and the program takes into account the wind direction and spin drifts effect on the elevation. It might be cool to see you do a video of shooting in the field shooting at various yardages and using Strelok to determine b.c.'s and other factors for long range shooting like you do on pigeons and particularly groundhogs.

  • @68Whiskey

    @68Whiskey

    That would be a cool video man. So strelok adds the wind deflection as yo how it relates to elevation as well as side to side.

    @@68Whiskey Thanks Keith if you would indulge me further. Say I want to set-up to shoot groundhogs with my 30 cal. out to 300 yards. First I pick out a windless day to do my range work. Would checking b.c.'s at 100 yds, 150, 200, 250 and 300 yards be a good range. Then rather than using a chronograph set-up at those distances to get b.c.'s could I use the trajectory validation to get the b.c.'s or does that not work. As you said shooting over a chrono and getting a reading would be very difficult. Though I just got an steel silhouette and thought placing the chrono behind the steel would help protect it. Thanks

    Forgot to mention, good Info on checking the trajectory for cases with wires, barn roof or whatever, good to know. I plan on buying Strelok pro if it works out for my particular scope, but one feature I wish it had was the terrain feature that some other apps have that use Google earth to calculate everything between two distances that you need using 2 waypoints. That sounds .ike a cool feature- I think it uses GPS of the phone, not sure my cheapo phone has that capabi,capability, though. Ticks are a pain, and getting worse. The wood ticks aint so bad, it's the deer ticks and they are getting a lot worse. Hope they get a vaccine against Lyme and the other nasties you can get fro ticks. Airguns are sensitive to temperature, 20 degrees vs say 5 degrees you will see enough fps drop to cause a change to your hold over requirement, ive tested this a lot, you must give Strelok 2 accurate fps/temp data inputs or you will be missing those long shots

    I get the same muzzle velocities with my pcp airguns. The velocity downrange changes as the air become more or less dense. But this is about muzzle velocity And my regulators keep that consistent

    @@68Whiskey Ive never seen a PCP, even a regulated one, have the same muzzle velocity in different temperatures when it's a difference of say 15°C. But you have to let the temp in the air cylinder drop after filling it obviously. I have tested this on 5 different guns and 5 different manufacturers and its always the case but the amount changes slightly

    What do I do,if my scope isn't listed? I have one that isn't a major brand, a Westhunter HD 4-16x44, and I don't really k ow what kind of reticle it is, it's a tree type, etched into the glass, and first focal plane, but none of the reticle In the huge list really look like the one I have. I tried the 'search for scope feature, but it was asking questions I didn't understand or know, so I couldn't complete it My air rifle is a Seneca Eagle Claw .25. I'm not sure what the twist is in the barrel either. I'm using the free version of Strolek right now to see if it's something I want to use. It doesn't seem to have pellet selections, just powder ammo, unless I haven't found the spot where the pellet info is yet? Anyways, great video, helped me clear up some issues I was having with the app

    Absolutely awesome!! What's a minimum distance to use for the second BC. Shooting .25 FX Maverick if that matters. Another question is how did you populate the target list? Was it manually? There is no list on mine. Thanks for doing this and I really think quite a few of us would love to see the hour version! 😃
