Yep! I remember I threw a giant sword at one in Survival mode. I was trying to hit another dude. He ran interference, blocked it, and it FADED FROM EXISTENCE!

If you're playing the story or arcade modes on Mania+, there are now dark red cursed arcade cabinets which will spawn retro bosses such as Antonio and the Streets of Rage 1 version of Souther so be careful

I don't know which infuriates me more about the Big Ben types: Their constant rollovers, or that obnoxious laugh whenever I get hit.

Fun fact: The names of Jack and his SOR2 counterparts are themed around beans *(he is what he eats).* Jack: Jack and The Beanstalk, Beano: Bean, and Soya: Soy Beans. (At first, I thought that it was a pun on Jackknife)

I first started playing this a couple of months ago, and absolutely loved it at first. As a stalwart of SOR1 and SOR2 when they first came out, I loved the series, completing them numerous times. I got a PS4 a couple of months ago and got the Megadrive classics for it, so played SOR3 for the first time and just found it clunky and awkward, going back to SOR2, because it felt way more comfortable. With SOR3 I was getting panned a lot for no reason, and couldn't figure out why, it just seemed a rushed release. Now, with SOR4, I did it on easy first time and loved it. The punches landed heavily and there were the different kind of easier enemies, like you so well pointed out in your first video. But when I was doing easy, I was getting Cs each time. It is way more technical this game, as you pointed out what works for one baddie doesn't work for another and if they're all together, you can easily get panned. To me, it is so well thought out, but annoying sometimes. It's what a serious player can play, like someone on Street Fighter 2 who uses the combos that I could never be bothered to do. I did half of SOR4 on normal, but was getting Ds, because I don't have the patience to work out the characters and just get panned most of time. Still love it, but when I see the 'mania' and 'arcade' levels? Wow!! Never!! There is some serious thought gone into this game to bring it up to modern standards. Using the specials and then getting that energy back, is a good touch that I don't have the patience to do that. I played some levels as SOR1 Blaze and she was great as she was so quick. Max and Floyd are just too slow for me. Like Max in SOR2, you can do a quick slap to stun and then just walk up to them and do a lot of damage, but you just can't do that in SOR4 because you just get decked. I think this game showed up my limitations as a gamer I suppose. Great walk-throughs and explanations! Yes sir, sure did! But a lot of the stuff is still relevant!

I love the new throw/slam time mechanic. You can still throw/slam mass monsters like (fat) big Ben, (lean) max, or (metal) koobo, only it takes longer the heavier they are. So far I've been able to detect 3 "classes" of weight difficulty.

@@unciervoenciervado That is a good point. But I gotta admit that one chicken and you fight 5 waves of almost OP enemies can be a pain. Then again it makes the challenge that much sweeter when you win.

Hey there I really like these videos. Did you know with the cyborg dude when he uses his telekinesis powers to float objects to hit you you can actually grab them out of mid-air.

Retro Shiva is just straight up luck based unless if you use your one and only star. It's even worse in Mania + because you have to fight Retro Shiva, Mr. X, Retro Galsia and Donovans ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

Unlike anry, when heart rolls away from you it damages you.

Yep! And does it as a recovery counter!

You can also dodge Goro's punch by jumping straight up with Alex or Blaze (at least, probably Cherry, definitely not Floyd) and then pummelling him with regular attacks, but it's not advised if there's more than 1 of them on the screen.

Right. The neutral jump in this game is your best friend. It evades a lot of attacks.

I got streets of rage 4 1 year ago

What Annoys me about this game is being attacked mid move by other enemies and you can't do anything, once your move animation is engaged you cant cancel and they just spam you

Right. I dunno if they made the AI like that to even the odds for them, but it always seems that they are faster than you in most cases. I had moments where I got hit in the middle of my DEFENSIVE special and still took damage.

Intresting notes: -When fighting off the Koobo(s) on the To The Concert level, if Koobo is still alive after taking down the Guddens and Zs, then Garam and Johnathon will join the fight and help Koobo, and if Koobo is STILL alive after that, then another Garam and a Z (Even more Zs on higher difficulties) will join in the fight to help Koobo. My tip obivously, take Koobo out first if you don't want more reinforcements to show up. -Goro's atomic punch has different damage depending on what stance he does before. His attack stance -> atomic punch follow up does more damage than his block stance -> atomic punch follow up. -Dokuja's block stance last longer than Goro's. Additionally, neither Tatsu or Tora does the block stance when fighting them in the Mr. X nightmare DLC.

Awesome gameplay notes man! That To The Concert level can be deadlier than the final level sometimes!

Thank the flying spaghetti monster the crowd doesnt whistle like in SoR2 during the fight with Barbacoa. I have that effing whistle stuck in my brain and its programmed to go off at the regular intervals and after his moves trigger it during the boos music whenever it plays even when the gayporn-star-wrestler isn't around. Not that there's anything wrong with any of those things. Just the whistling sweaty bald men in the background.

This video is a bit outdated so as of the new patch, the ball got taken out and they created 4 waves of the fat guys.

At least Zamza this time doesn’t German suplex you when you get close to him that move was annoying in SOR 2

Both are amazing characters! My main? Hard to say because I have been getting accustomed to almost all of them. Mainly the SOR4 cast. I'd say I have the most success with Adam and Blaze, and post patch Axel has grown on me a bit. I'd rank this pretty high. SOR2 is still my favorite, and I'd say this one is second place. I dig the combo aspect and the creativity of the attacks, especially the specials. SOR1 and SOR3 are still great, but I find myself playing this and SOR2 the most!

@@NostradanteGaming I always find myself replaying the first two games more then 3 but I like 3 too. The Japanese version of 3 better then the English one. Blaze and Adam are my main in the first game, 2.skates and axel and 3 axel and blaze. 4 Adam and Floyd. The music in 4 not bad not on level with the first two games

Japanese version was fair with you and the music not bad 9 tunes stood out to me title screen, funky hq, down the beatch, commissioner, maximum (max boss fight) I like rising up, china town stage, first level most out of the 9 tunes

Yep! You have to fight them in Survival Mode. You'll see Jack, Zamza, Abadede, SOR2 Shiva, SOR2 Galsia, and SOR2 Donovan (who has been nerfed thank goodness). I have not seen SOR2 Mr. X yet, but he could be there.

It was a killing blow. Even though he has the armor (as of the patch there's no more armor), he still loses life so throwing an enemy at him killed him because he had low health.

Yeah this video was put up after the new patch. I didn't have time to update it. But now that room has no spike ball, and the fat guys come in 4 waves. In my opinion, it is ridiculously difficult now.

Takes a lot of practice for some of those jumping I-Frames. Practice in the training room with SOR4 Barbon. He's the one you wanna learn it from.

Telekinetic pipes and maces are bullshit and just plain unfair as far as game mechanics go. If they hurt other bad guys as well and I would be fine with the attack because a thrown weapon follows that rule as well.

That's a pretty good point. Luckily the telekinetic weapons got nerfed and only two come after you instead of everything on screen. Even so, if one connects, that's a huge chunk of health gone and the enemies are unaffected.
