Playing guitar with your teeth is a very old trick, dating back to at least the 1950's. Jimi Hendrix was the first really popular guitarist to do it, but a LOT of old Bluesmen did it. Hendrix claimed to have picked it up in Tennessee in the early 60's.

I hate when people say that.. Morello is responsible for some of their greatest riffs and songs ever.. RATM, audioslave, prophets of rage, solo projects.. I'm probably preaching to the choir but my Uncle is one of those Tom morello haters. hes more into Clapton and Hendrix, But I try to explain to him just because it's not the style of music you like doesnt mean the dude is not a skilled guitarist.

I just wanted to thank you for uploading such great videos of Street Sweeper Social Club. I watch a lot of videos and music on KZread, but I've never really been moved to comment. Your filming was just excellent, following the action on stage just perfectly, and the sound was great as well. I never find myself saying 'oh I wish he'd filmed just over there' somehow you always manage to be looking at just the right bit of the stage. Awesome set of videos really, thanks!

For me, that sweep picking was complex, but the dj scratch was only very creative, so i'd say it's a mix xD

It's just natural harmonics while using the whammy pedal set to 1 octave up and a delay pedal set to a fairly long delay, the over/under way he plays it is just being showy. It's really that simple.

The strings setting out like that grabs more energy......if you play. A speaker has a magnet .............. I dont cut mine because i think it looks better and plus i think i hear a difference somehow . I know jimi would tilt his hat to tom morello!!! Think about it!

No he doesn’t cut them because someone made fun of him for leaving them long when younger and said “you’re not in the baddest band in town”. Years later once RATM took off he stopped trimming them because now he *was* in the biggest band in town.

It's so cool that Tom played all his signature solos here. Intro is from Revolver, then we have a jazzy solo from Settle for Nothing, then we have something based on Like a Stone. And that dope Bulls on Parade scratching in the end!

so sick. I love that he breaks out his old, memorable tricks. Brings back glorious memories of powerful riffage. Watching him effortlessly create sounds that no one else can make on a guitar just makes me laugh in awe and disbelief.
