Street Smarts vs Book Smarts: Lessons from India's Streets | Capt. Raghu Raman | Josh Talks

Explore the astonishing power of persistence in this eye-opening Josh Talk, where we delve into how street vendors are outperforming big brands despite operating in what many consider an "informal" sector. Witness firsthand the resilience and business acumen of these unsung heroes of the Indian economy, who collectively contribute to a staggering 50% of the nation's GDP and employ 90% of its workforce.
🌟 What you'll discover in this talk:
- Real-life examples of street vendors whose ROI outshines that of polished, corporate giants.
- Insightful comparisons showing how these vendors manage to adapt and thrive, changing their business models more than twelve times a year.
- Inspiring stories of individuals who maximize minimal resources, providing valuable lessons in marketing, customer relations, and sustainability.
This video is not just a talk; it's a call to rethink and recognize the critical role of India's unorganized sector. It challenges the stereotypes associated with employment and entrepreneurship in the informal economy and highlights the vast, often overlooked potential residing in these bustling street corners.

True, but it is wrong to presume there is a strong and unavoidable competition and strife between the organized and unorganised sector. Players in the unorganised sector are motivated and driven by the sheer 'need', because of their circumstances which may differ from individual to Individual..It is futile to expect ideal growth with a limited role of organized sector. The way forward may be to infuse more honesty and transparency in the organized corporate sector and make them sensitive to the social necessities and their responsibility In this regard.

You should definitively check out blockchain technology! That, in my opinion, is the way to include the "unorganised" parts of the world in the global economy and bring equality to all. This, while also taking power away from big corporations and overly influential governments like the USA. I can recommend you to check out Charles Hoskinson on KZread, he is dedicated to bring blockchain to the whole world. With blockchains, you can have voting systems for anyone with a smartphone and internet access. You can be your own bank and do worldwide trade also with only a smartphone and internet access. No need for a "classic" bank, no need for middlemen, etc. Those things are all still early stage, few real world applications as of now. But I'm sure it will revolutionize the way we see the economy and pave the way to a truly global world in the years to come. Take a look at Bitcoin, Ethereum and Cardano too :)

"MBA Study is not to do job,,, MBA Student Must Start with Small business" & "MBA is nothing more than Theory to handle MNC Companies" statements contradicts with each other. "MBA should be to start with small business but how it is being taught is keeping 'handling MNC' in mind" would be a better statement i believe.

I have seen many in tiktok not many in actual world but many in tiktok. They are way more ahead than us. Atleast they do something and get massive payment from that . U know what's our problem we usually smash tiktok bcoz its look fun and not really defines what entrepreneurship or business mindset or something close to that. But it's also a business in a more fun way. U get paid for doing fun things and that's the brightest part of it. U are happy what u doing and also get paid for that. What more do u need in life.

This is the best Management GURU lecture that i have listened anywhere so far. Such deep insight and discerning details and that too around us in our daily everyday life. As they say , Gyan hamare ass paas hi hai. He is leader in the True sense and spirit. India Inc. needs to have a shared dream and aspiration so that we can pull up every minuscule equity of this economy and make it LARGE. Young India , This challenge is for our gen, take it , live it and make a glory. Jai Bharat

Hi Sir. Its always a life changing moment when one listens to you. Am fortunate enough to have known you and in some way a contributor to 'Project Netrutva' as have been a mentor to our postman's son and he is now a research analyst with Dun n Bradstreet. I try and spend a couple of hours during weekends to mentor students who score less than 50% and take them to the next level. Your words "YOU ARE THE CHOSEN ONE" still echoes in my ears. Thanks once again to be a part of my life and inspiring me go the extra mile and serve.

Have watched quite a few videos on development and paradigm shift etc etc But this one seems to hit the right note at the right place. As a person working in a US based multinational, what you mentioned makes a lot of difference on how we actually should be thinking rather than how we are thinking and acting now. Thank a lot. Got a new set of videos to watch now.
