My goal in Izmir, Turkey was no to try only local food, but to explore what Izmir has to offer for tourists and expats, what can we find just by walking the streets. Me and my husband tried the traditional Turkish Breakfast in Izmir, some street food. Also went to pubs recommended by @Traveller Yildirim, tried Asian food there.

asansor is great. I love the pacanga there. My gf lives 5 minutes from that cafe. We went there quite often before travelling to different places in izmir

Yes, you can easily exchange USD/EUR in big cities of Turkey. There is always an exchange office at the airport, but the rate in the city is better. In the touristy city centre and also in the Malls I always see an exchange office.

Hi Olga, enjoying your videos and advice. What neighbourhoods in Antalya are best stay for a small family, couple with small baby. I want to take the baby for a walk on the sea and / or in the park. Should be there in November to March

We did eat a traditional Turkish breakfast, Izmir pastry, and some fast food. But as I say in the video, the goal was not to eat traditional food only, but to explore what you can have in Izmir

I don't think smoking is legally allowed inside -

So far I saw it in 2 bars (smoking inside) and in all the cafes/restaurants there is a non-smoking area, which is rarely in a separate room (so not really closed from smoking area, often you can smell it). Also the non-smoking area is also a family area, where people come with children.

When Turks realise membership of the EU means smoking is outlawed indoors in public places 😱 they will think again about joining EU 🤔
