Streebree's Advanced Surfing Guide [CS:GO, CS:S, TF2] -- Mechanics and Speedrunning Strategies

Ойындар

A crash course tutorial of everything I could think of that has to do with surfing. This applies to any source game; CS:GO, CSS, TF2, etc., but everything in this video was surfed in CSS.
My beginner's tutorial:
• Streebree's Surfing Gu...
Sometimes I stream:
/ streebree
0:00 - prestrafing
2:43 - airstrafing and smoothness
7:08 - falling sooner
8:48 - headsurfing (inverted ramps)
9:59 - bhops
11:16 - speed cap
12:21 - ending stages
12:55 - endzones
13:15 - speedrun routes
14:52 - settings and hardware
15:40 - future
Hopefully more videos soon and not 6 years later this time :]

Waiting for the map tutorials !! :D Specific airstrafe patterns to enter common ramp types under common situations^in order to maintain or gain speed would be something too! Like small ramps close to walls after a tight entrance, curved ramps and how to exit them onto the next in order to gain or maintain speed. (I'm not very good at speed surfing yet I can beat all t4 and most t5 maps in one shots if I take the time.) It took me a very long time to atleast get decent on curved ramps all by myself. And I'm still off by quite a bit compared to the advanced surfers. Like... how to enter a slightly or heavily displaced ramp. And so on! Like in many things: If one starts to categorize most things, ppl will get very good at them very fast x) Loved the video btw.

Great content! As you may seem to be the guy who knows: Is there a good tutorial for setting up an offline server with features like checkpoints (with saved velocity/angle) to practice tricky parts of a wr route over and over? I managed to get clean runs on some difficult maps but it was always a grind from start to finish (thinking about omnific and such...). There surely is an easier way to go about this. Thanks + keep it up!

Did you forget to mention its even faster to crouch in a prestrafe? I want to know more about crouching in general: is it true that you have reduced airaccel while crouching and does this matter during a prestrafe? And why do people sometimes crouch while boarding a ramp?

  • @Gash3d

    @Gash3d

    3 жыл бұрын

Crouching before a ramp is usually used as a measure to garuntee they land on a ramp with little to no slamming . Not crouching brings higher chance of clipping the edge of the ramp.
