I've also studied Red Lights for educational purposes 🤣 Love your take on red lights. I interpreted it as Hyunjin taking control over his cravings. At the beginning Chan has the chain around Hyunjin and when they do their choreographed dance in the hallways they are side by side identical to reach other. Also when Hyunjin is choking Chan it’s not with much force or grip, while Chan is much more forceful. Then they meet at the table and after than Hyunjin is only tied with ropes which shows less restraint that chains, indicating he’s gaining more control. After that their synchronized dance shows that Hyunjin is closer to the camera than Chan like he’s getting away from him, and then at the end Hyunjin has his hand around Chan’s neck so now he’s in control. I thought this was a beautifully made song and video.

I love learning life skills with skz. I feel like this could be a series all on its own 🤣. Wow, that was beautifully put together. I feel like I need to watch this MV quite a few more times so I can grasp things without getting distracted by the visuals haha.

As a Chan and Hyunjin bias at the time Red Lights took me the fuck out, and I’m still not used to it every time I watch the music video.

19:00 this interpretation is pretty much on point! they were talking about that they're workaholics and that it can be really toxic and unhealthy but at the same time they love doing their work

They wrote this together as symbolism of being tied to the red lights of the recording studio, they can't get away from the creative process. It has a hold over them and all they see are the red lights of the studio while working non-stop. It is their love but also their bane. If you pay attention in Maniac, you will see the red lights flashing in the video.

LOL pretty sure we've never been so quiet on our channel.. except for a couple of emotional videos. THIS WASN'T EMOTIONAL THIS WAS SENSUAL. Our brains went offline. We could hear the old school dial up attempting to restart but the connection kept getting interrupted 🤣. Oh I want to see the other units react to the songs!

Y'all started out so confident with the Red Lights reaction bringing up the inside jokes and all that, for a split second I was like wow, maybe they'll be okay after all. Nope! The first second in😭🤣. I still can't believe this is one of the first few videos I saw of them I nearly started running. I was so confused when (at the time) that was the only song/video like that they had put out, it felt so random😂. Chan and Hyunjin together are dangerous 😭. Thank God for reactors honestly, like even after the initial shock of the Red Lights MV they're still able to pretty accurately get where Chan and Hyunjin were coming from while I just got stuck on the surface level of the video and the song😭. Also, if you ever want to see more of the thought process that went into these three songs and videos, there's a mini-series they have called Howling in Harmony where we see some of the behind-the-scenes. You can check it out if you have the time👍. I just like how they split into 3 different groups and came up with such wildly different concepts😭. Never a dull moment in this fandom I tell you. Also just so I have this right, sister in the glasses is Tori, and the sister with curly hair is Bri? Edit: Surfin came after Red lights to cleanse our souls and then prepare us (or me at least ) for the heartbreak of Gone Away😭

HAHAH WE DID 💀. Neither of us were expecting chains and beds... or Chan's back. This was one of your first videos you saw from them??? I think I would have definitely been intrigued to know what their concept was as a group if this had been something we had seen in the beginning 😂. LOL both of us weren't even sure we made any sense in this reaction after our first exposure to Red Lights so I'm glad it came across like we sort of knew what we were talking about 🤣🤣 our brains were pretty melted. @@NewChapterReactions The chains and beds threw me off cause other than Red lights it was stuff I had seen was like Never ending story, Circus, FAM, the View, Cheese, I was so confused😭. I didn't really have a systematic way of checking out music back then, I just checked what I saw people mention in KZread comments 🤣. Resulted in a very strange but enjoyable listening experience 😂. Don't worry, I wouldn't have been able to come up with anything half as coherent after my first viewing😂. I'm glad I got the names right, you don't often refer to each other by name I thought I got forgot😅 I've come to expect emotional whiplash from SKZ, it's part of the package, they really make sure we don't get bored😂

@@NewChapterReactions just a fun fact: the name howl in harmony comes from a letter a stay wrote for skz during/after kingdom, where they referred to skz as wolves cuz they had just released wolfgang at the time and said in the letter "you are a family that howls in harmony", and it was such a beautiful and emotional letter because hyunjin was on hiatus at the time and at the end of the letter the stay wrote "I love you XX one wolf might join a hundred miles later. tell him I love him too", and let me tell you, we all bawled our fucking eyes out with that.

Oh my god! The unit songsssssss! The difference in emotions each song portrays is just so good. Which is honestly a testament to how talented Stray Kids are.

Ahh. this set of unit songs was such a surprise from SKZ. It tickled everyone's fancy.

Omg you should see the Skz harmony song camp with this unit its like the making of this songs.

On Gone Away, it's their older selves reminiscing about their first love. On the 5th Howl in Harmony episode there are clips during the recording of the three videos. Some of the insights for Red Lights were good. On the furth episode they all talk to the video director about the concepts for the videos, so that's good also. On episode 3, which is the one where Hyunjin and Chan are talking about the song, they talk about the "compulsion" feeling they want for the song. All very interesting when looking at the actual video.

Wow that's a pretty memorable introduction 🤣!

They showed us the process of creating thr songs, concept of the mv and the shooting with the episodes of Howl in Harmony, which I recommend you to watch! From the moment Chan let us (and Hyunjin) hear part of the instrumental of Red Lights in that show, I knew that I'd become one of my all time favourite skz songs and it did! The guitar, the strings, the drop... and the vocals, I levitate. But yeah the MV? No one was prepared for that, like what??? But also Gone Away's key change changed lives lol and Surfin is the perfect summer bop. Happy you'll go at the concert, Red Lights ot8... well no spoiler but it'll be an experience lol

They did a show called Howl in harmony where each episode one of the unit teams come up with ideas for a song and MV each song turns into these it's really fun and cute

The different moods of red lights and surfin made me laugh 😂

I love Gone Away so much. I tend to lean toward bangers when I first get into a group, so I didn't pay as much attention to it, but now it's one of my favorites.

Everybody interpreted Red lights in their own ways, and you guys did come close to what Hyunjin and Chan had in mind. They were talking about workoholism and how they want to get away from it even though they can't. I liked to interpret the video in the form of Hyunjin and Chan portraying different sides of a person. Hyunjin being the artistic, ambitious side and Chan being the grounded, realistic side of the person. In the beginning of the video, both of them are chained and want to get out of the bondage but, as you mentioned, Hyunjin stepped on the chains that Chan was initially controlling. In my thoughts, that must have been because, he wanted to be like that, chained to his work but in control. Both of them are seen choking each other, but Hyunjin seems to be almost enjoying it but Chan doesn't want to be choked. Also the scene where Chan holds Hyunjin up further solidifies that Chan is the realistic side and Hyunjin the artistic one imo. It also shows how none of them can survive without the other. Later when Chan and Hyunjin are staring each other down, it seemed like Chan was thinking of giving him the control. Also, Hyunjin is seen in ropes, which are obviously softer than chains, thus making it better to handle the workoholism. We never see Chan in ropes. The only time he is in ropes is when he is tied to Hyunjin. That shows that maybe Chan realised that he either the control goes to the addiction of work or the person's artistic side. In the end, we see Hyunjin (almost) biting Chan's neck, but it was only possible because Chan decided to give him control, i.e the grounded side. Artistic liberties and ambitions imo can only exist if you are aware of your roots and reason to do what you want to. 18+ stuff In the language of bdsm, i think to some extent that Chan was the sub and Hyunjin the dom, and unlike how people think, this clearly shows that the sub is in control, and is the one who can give permission to what is to be done🤓 Surfin' was definitely a light hearted song for us to get ready for the heartbreak that Gone away gave us. I highly recommend you watch Howl in Harmony, it gives the behind for how they came up with the songs! I am so excited you get to see them in the concert soon! I really hope you enjoy yourselves! Just scream as much as you guys can and show them the love Stays like me who can't go to their concerts want to! Can we expect a vlog maybe?👀 No pressure, just an idea!

P.S.: For Surfin', Changbin wanted the crew to join them in the mv and that's what happened! They made easy choreo so anyone could copy it and the rest of the staff joined them in the end! Also, in Gone Away, I love how you guys caught onto the change in key and the shift in mood of the song of finally accepting to let their love go!

When people react to red lights i laugh so hard 😂 because the song is actually about obsession with work. The red lights come from the color of the lights in the music studio. I’m going to assume hyunjin is “work” and chan is the “victim”. Like chan is trying to break free from the grasp of hyunjin, but the obsession is making it harder for him to. While hyunjin is keeping him a slave and shackled to him (work), drawing chan closer to him (work) and sinking him deeper into chan’s “love” and attraction for him (work). That’s why chan “is going crazy now”, “cannot breathe with you by my side”, “all i see is red lights.” You guys should react to the OT8 live performance of red lights. And the choreography is…..😉 but all of them performing it was really something to see.

Every once in a while, I go back to your reaction to Red Lights because I absolutely love the Faces™and the lovely analysis.

omg enjoy the concert!! i get to go to the one in my country and it was a blast, take care of yourself, stay hydrated, and get cuddled up when post concert depression hits 😂

So Red Lights is about obsession, but in this case is about the almost necessity they feel to create music or work harder to be a better artist, and how that obsession is affecting them. You see, At the beginning Chan is calling that obsession like is what he needs for inspiration, then Hyunjin points out that, no matter how hard he tries to escape from it, still keeps him working the whole night, just like Chan, feeling he’s going crazy. Then the chorus is like it’s their obsession talking back to them“You know I can’t leave you alone-Make you feel my love-On a dark night”, then it continues speaking to him “Tell me you hate me, I can’t handle you anymore” and it continues with “But I know You and me, there’s no other way”, like reminding them that they need it to create, so then Chan accepts that, even if he tries to escape, he ends up setting the mic to keep recording all night long, even when he close his eyes he keep seeing the red light of the studio, consuming him deeper. Now, during the whole video they speak to each other like the other is the personification of that obsession, that’s why there are chains keeping them hostage and they try to get free all the time. But also during the whole video they’re mirroring each other, until the very last scene where they are looking themselves at the mirror, saying that the obsession was inside, there’s nothing outside forcing them to work so hard that it destroy them and they’re just doing all that to themselves.

Chan and Hyunjin are known as the members who go to sleep often in the morning. Hyunjin tends to spend the whole night dancing and Chan making music. They love what they do, it's their passion. But they also realise how tired they get every morning, realising they didn't sleep at all. (Which is the reference in lyrics till the morning, staying up all night, set the mic up). They love what they do and can't live without it, but it's also very unhealthy and destroying them. You should watch the Howl in Harmony though, it's so cool to watch them make the songs.

first i think you guys should be prepared because they perform red lights in concert all 8 of them so good luck lmao. we as fandom say that hyunchan is too much of a powerful duo so whatever they come up with we're sure it's going to end everyone and red lights proved that (so did taste which chan isn't in the song but he produced it so we know he's always there) , hyunjin and chan have this whole "teacher and student" thing as in hyunjin said chan thought him a lot specially how to be sexy lol and yes red lights have a deeper meaning than just being sexy, it talks about an obsession and an unhealthy relationship and when it comes to both of them that's work , they're both very perfectionists people so that sometimes it's not healthy , that's something hyunjin talked about once someone asked him about it. surfin is the cutest song ever that unit was something we weren't expecting and it absolutely slayed , gone away shattered everyones heart as in how beautiful it was , han blends in so perfectly with vocal racha

This SKZ journey has been a wild ride =P Still waiting for Your Eyes to come for you all--since it's a Japanese track not sure when it will fall in the order of things, it's off Circus (But I'm assuming it's on the way since it is a 2022 release). I've said it before, but the video is heart stopping and cringey and adorable. Their reactions to the video also are honestly the best cause they all get to goof on each other. Watching Chan struggle to explain the meaning behind **RED LIGHTS** while being shy about the MULTIPLE meanings it can have was both adorable and stressful. I mean, sure it can be about edging in some facets, sure it can be sexy, and toxic and relationship driven. It can also be about being obsessive and tortured and driven past sense when it comes to ambition, passion, work. ANYTHING that pulls you to the breaking point that you can't seem to live without or give up, even when it might be healthier to moderate. The boys just chose to throw themselves into the "LET'S BREAK STAY" mode with full cheekiness, and we're all thankful. The combo of these 3 videos is kind of a snapshot of SKZ versatility in one video.

Your Eyes is going to be sooner rather than later. Just when we make plans SKZ drops content .. I don't know what we were thinking haha. We're excited to finally get to it though. Their reactions too 😆 Gotta love how their lyrics can smack in you in the face not only on the surface level but also with a deeper meaning as well. These were three very different songs but they were all equally amazing. The whiplash was real though 🤣

the whole noeasy album just had me not knowing how to feel like how can I watch red lights, hear surfin and then listen to gone away (I definitely don't cry my eyes out everytime I listen to it)

I guess no one talked about the Chinese trumpet vine (the flowers they are drawing in gone away). It has a symbolic meaning of waiting, and it also appeared on extraordinary you (they sang the theme song: neverending story) They took part in creating the concept of their sub unit songs and at the end the director gives emphasis to the flower as a symbol of the longing and reminiscing of their first love.

I have been waiting for this! Also... SKZ dropped a special video for "There". Literally been watching it for the last 40 minutes. 😂

Maybe someone else already commented this, and if so, sorry for repeating! Red Lights is about their obsession with work. Bang Chan staying up all night (he touches on this a lot through a lot of songs) to make music and Hyunjin staying up late also to work on dancing. Red Lights itself is referring (I think) to the red light on a camera that is recording. The lyric: Set the mic up - referring to setting up the camera/mic to get ready to put on the show for the fans (Chan's room?). Yes, they are pretty genuine with fans with they go on live (vlive before, now youtube), but they don't show everything. It's still a show and showing part of themselves. Granted, the obsession is why they made the song, but they love other interpretations too. I enjoy how many different interpretations of this song there is. For myself, Surfin' is actually my favorite out of these three. It just makes me happy to listen to it. They were making all these videos during summer, and they wanted a summery vibe song. They laugh that it's too bad it wasn't released til later (fall or early winter I believe?), but it's still awesome and I love the summer concept of it. Changbin singing just makes my heart super happy. And OMG I never noticed in Gone Away near the end that there two were of them in those last scenes. o.0 mind blown. 🤯

We've enjoyed the several interpretations we've been given in the comments for Red Lights too. It's always fun to see different people's takes on things. Surfin' is so much fun haha it's so refreshing when it comes on my playlist 🤣. The release date might have been a bit early but it's perfect timing for us now haha. We're going to be blasting it this summer for sure. 😂😂! I'm glad we pointed out something new for you then!

Actually for these each Songs have The behind scene also How they write/produce each song in different videos called SKZ Harmony. But I forget, you guys need watch it 😂 Also you must listen their Bside songs start from I Am Era - Noeasy (because I know that for Maniac - Maxident you have react the albums) There are still so many Contens you guys not watch it yet, but yeah I will waiting for it.

"happy-spicy-sad sandwich" 🤣. The bad thing about going in this order is that we had a hard time connecting any dots after watching "Red Lights" 😂. The masks are kind of hard to see! It's like they blend into the background! That's why I had to stop and stare at it for a second to make sure that's what I was seeing so it's understandable 🤣. "Surfin'" and "Gone Away" were equally as good but so different!! It was fun to get to see such different songs back to back. LOL ✨Life Skills with Stray Kids✨

I love how astute you both are when you analyse the videos. Without any other context, you both often hit the nail on the head. If you watch Howl in Harmony you’ll see that Red Lights can be seen from a few angles but they describe it as an unhealthy obsessive relationship with their profession, themselves. I recommend Howl in Harmony. It will give more context. 😊

OMG!!! I’m also going to the Ft. Worth concert with my daughter! It would be so cool to see y’all there! We’re going Sunday night and I’m so freaking excited I can hardly stand it! Red Lights reaction cracked me up! The sheer shock and brain malfunctioning was so relatable 😂. This set is just an emotional rollercoaster. You know they put them in that order on purpose on the album to give us some lighthearted recovery between Red Lights and Gone Away. I still get chills every time I hear Gone Away. They are just incredible at giving you the feels even if you don’t know what they are saying with their pure vocal talent.

see the difference between Chan and Hyunjin when they're being choked is Chan is actually trying to get the hand away by holding onto the wrist and kind of pulling outward. Then there's Hyunjin whos fuckin smirking and holding the hand there practically choking himself.
