Also don’t forget about those dogs removed from the city and thrown in the istanbull forrest and about 1000s of poor lives living there with no hope. No food and locals are doing what ever they can to feed them. Such a sad thing to see poor dogs just looking at cars passing by because they probly waiting someone might be coming back and take them home. I was just their yesterday and seen them and made me cry to see that Please do look up dogs living in forrest of istanbull

There is a scene in the video where a man meets hundreds of running dogs on a road outside the city. Those are that kind of rural dogs. And there are such people or organizations taking them food and water. Many people donate those organizations. Some municipalities drop the dogs there instead of killing. Of course their life is bad but they usually get fed.

Actually Istanbul is famous for its well fed street cats more than its dogs. Cats can find food almost everywhere in Turkey. But the dogs at country side are suffering. Our crap government doing nothing for this poor animals. Cats are fine but I can't say the same thing for the dogs.

I just came back from there and such a sad thing to see that those dogs left in forrest without knowing when their next meal is coming. Ive seen the them so sad just sitting next to the freeway just looking at people driving by. Their eyes tells how sad they were

Because they are not killed as in the West. They are fed since the Ottoman era. The municipalities has to neuter them according to laws. But the government doesnt enforce the law in the last decades.

That is weird, it's my understanding that Muslims find dogs to be filthy creatures and most would not touch them. Maybe it's not a Muslim thing but a culture thing in some Muslim countries. Can anyone please clarify?

They are reluctant to come into contact with dogs before worship, but this does not mean that animals will not be compassionate. At least this is the case with the Turks. There are already serious differences between Turks and Arabs. Before I went to Turkey, I thought they were the same, but they are really two very different nations.
