2:00 this is not strategic relocation. This is, how do you find your vacation home. It doesn't matter what people say, this is what I think is best. Strategic relocation, get the book. Get away from the city, get away from nuclear power plants, as for location, ask an expert if it is defendable.

So I've done this! Made up my mind that I wanted to live off the grid, bought the book strategic relocation, picked a place bought a house, being able to walk out your back door and shoot at targets on your land is awesome, the fresh air, listening to stream flowing, no neighbors absolute freedom. Here's what the book doesn't tell you, if your from the city your probably use to high speed internet and I thought I would be fine but boy was I wrong, now I'm stalking Elon Musk hoping starlink is going to solve that problem but wait that's not it, wait until you wake up because a black widow is on your arm, while you can find them in the city the population is larger out in the woods, you and your kids are out side playing then it gets quiet in the woods and you feel something isn't right and you look and there is a mountain lion stalking your kid, I'm not even gonna get on the rattlesnakes you gotta watch out for, this life is not for everyone but living surrounded by all this potential danger keeps you on your toes though.

@@alexlandry9062 well damn that's neat. Where I live now us a suburb now bit it used to be country and pastures. Its outside atlanta, in between there and athens. We want to move out further. Some areas in south georgia aren't very populated which is good, but there is nuclear power in eastern bama if shtf. Its too cold for me to go out west etc, being in several car wrecks stops that.

Please I need a strong advice in terms of relocation. I live in NYC married with 5 kids different ages. I made my 6 figures and it’s hard to get the same salary in another state. I’m thinking to buy a small vacation house with at least 1 acres so when shtf approximately two hours from ny no passing any bridge. What do you think about Litchfield Connecticut? Please advise

in my opinion I'd get more than an acre with 5 kids and leave soon. You need less money to live off of in a small town. Just my opinion.

@@alexlandry9062 Joel's book is comprehensive but only you should figure out where you "need" to be or it won't work out. There are countless people with buyer's remorse who bought land based on Joel's recommendations. It's still a good book but you are the one who has to be good with your choices. I presented a whole host of considerations of what questions to ask yourself in my book Prepper Survival Retreats. It is not an encyclopedia on where I think you need to live, it is a process for you to decide where you can be the best situated for your needs. This was just a short video that was meant to get people thinking. I completely agree on your points about getting out of NYC and using care to buy land with clean soil and water.

The Catskill area and above on the main road toward Adirondack mountain range, near a small town for resupply and help if needed is possibly smart. You do not need a bedroom community. All those areas have copperheads and other pests, spiders, raccoons, skunks. It is not all rainbows and unicorns. Many beautiful old spacious homes in small towns all have land beautiful sidewalks general stores, and friendly helpful locals. Do not go remote. Take the train from Grand Central and explore on weekends.

We are in southern Middle TN (Tracy City). Since the C Virus, we've been reassured that this is a great place to be. Not easy for people to get here from either Chattanooga or Nashville. We have far fewer virus cases than nearby counties because we are pretty secluded, and that is a great indicator of protection, not just for this "disaster." There are places to avoid (Gruetli, Palmer, etc.), but for the most part lots of like-minded folks here, many longtime locals. ~ Kir in TN
