That quote cuts so deep. 10 years ago I was in a different relationship. I was young, dumb and made lots of mistakes which led us to and eventually separate in 2012. Thinking back I am so thankful that our lives aligned. Even if only for 4 years. If you ever come across this and read this, my first true love. I am so thankful for the time that our paths aligned. That is it :)

Maaaajor props to Wong Fu for tackling two topics they’ve never tackled before - divorce and raising a child. Like literally, never before did they cover this. But they did it in the way they know best - staying true to their characters as people and having them tackle these huge, dense life struggles with the full force of their humanity. No one answer to divorce and single parenthood is correct because no divorce or parenthood is the same - but they had Marissa tackle everything simply and humanly. And that is, once again, Wong Fu knowing their own stories and questions light years further than us as an audience ever could.

I have a feeling Marissa wont choose between Gene and Josh. Since she "rushed" and settled with Gene, I feel like at present she'll choose herself and take things slow. There's no timeline and due date for romance, right? I think Strangers Never Again would be about closure and growth for everyone.

Remember her and Gene had nothing in common at all, her and Josh do. Real Estate.

I hope it would be! Personally I feel like if they got back together I really would suspend my disbelief cause' so far this series has taken a very realistic approach and generally people don't get back together after being split up for so long (there are exceptions ofc, it's just not the norm)! I feel like maybe they could learn and finally understand why they broke up, their respective flaws and maybe realign their approach to relationships from here with the closure they needed

I appreciate this series that I’m almost in my 30s. I use to think that romance had to be a cookie cutter relationship and it always had to end up with a happy ending or else you failed. But humans are way more complex than that and you can’t put people into boxes but to let them explore and find out for themselves who they want to be.

Based on the trailer, they will eventually meet up to talk at that bench. If I’m to put my best guess forward of the ending: they catch up on their lives of what happened to each of them in 10 years, and evaluate what didn’t work out back then with each other and with their last relationships. Then they become business partners because he’s a realtor and she remodels/flips houses, and hence they will never be strangers again. Either way even if this isn’t the ending, great job as always Wongfu! And Phil if you’re reading this, i know I’m not the first to say it but you truly have a gift for storytelling.

It's okay to be single. It's okay to end relationships. I have 3 ex-fiances. Sometimes even after you say yes, you have to have the wherewithal to say no. Never rush into something just because you feel like "it's what you're supposed to do at that time in your life." That's what my boyfriend did. He married the wrong person at the "right time" and had kids with said wrong person. In the divorce, she took over 70% of the marital assets, plus alimony, plus more child support than the minimum required by the state. She was able to get away with this because if he didn't agree she threatened to try to take the kids and force a custody battle that likely would have cost $50-100k in attorney and court fees. It was already so stressful, the divorce being settled out of court took about 6 months to finalize from start to finish. He couldn't imagine having it drag out any longer going to court. It's better to be lonely now than railroaded, broke and lonely sharing custody of kids with a psychotic ex-wife later. Stay strong and be patient. Being with the right person is well worth the time spent waiting just being you.

I found it really hard to connect with the Marissa from 10 years ago because it came across a bit forced on screen (no hate pls). But this time, it's so natural and there's a sense of maturity in her gestures and the way she delivers her lines. You can tell she's put a lot of thought and work into her presentation. Well done Cathy

Had to pause...3 minutes and 50 seconds in...already crying. Hit me hard when Marissa [Cathy] said she never expected to be "in my 30s, divorced..." I didn't get blessed with a child but to be in my 30s and divorced...I feel I messed up...but I'm looking forward to see how her story plays out. Okay...I'm diving back in. 😭😭😭 Back again...I am definitely living in the same mindset as Cathy's character. I love love...and I love seeing my friends find their happiness...and while I agree that you don't have to be in a relationship or be with someone to be happy...that is something I've always wanted for myself. Buuuuut, with each passing year, I think it's not meant for me...as Marissa said, "it's not in my cards". Always wanted to be a mom and to be someone's someone...but it'll just be a beautiful dream for me...but I'll continue to support those around me who find their happiness WITH someone and along side someone and being someone's someone. Speaking of...congrats to Phil and Helen on becoming parents to be! Yay! So incredibly happy for you both! When I first saw the trailer for Strangers Never Again, I thought it would mean that Marissa & Josh would get back together. After watching parts 1 & 2, I feel like their dinner meeting will be kind of like an "eye-opener" for the both of them once they hear each other's stories and reflect on them, as well as their own history together. Marissa will reconcile with Gene, while Josh reconciles with April. This is my guess, but I could be completely wrong aha. Anyway, enjoying the story and I can't wait to see what happens next week!!

yh feel like you may be right. Don't see Marissa and Josh getting back together. Not sure if Marrisa and gene will get back together since it seems their relationship was never really working but definitely feel like Josh and April will be getting back together

It's very nostalgic to watch this series because seeing Cathy and Philip aged over the years, and it reminds me of people around us that are going through the different stages of life too, varying from changing jobs, getting married, having a kid, getting divorced/break-ups, rediscovering yourself again and keep moving forward, etc. Life is rough, man. But these are the moments that make us grow and become a better person than we were yesterday.

I love this Short!!!! i love the little easter egg's youve been giving us also... when Marissa dropped the shoeboxes on the ground i was like "Hey Josh did that in Strangers, Again!". Its crazy when we watched Strangers, again we were 10 years younger and now watching Strangers Never Again feels like watching it all over but with a mature mindset... kinda like rewatching a old movie and getting a new perspective out of it and seeing and understanding things that never made sense before... thanks Wong Fu for everything you do for your fans WE LOVE YOUR WORK!!!

I could relate so much in this story, myself being 33 & still single watching all my friends got married with kids. Most of the time I feel fine being alone, but there's always that small part of me that wants to settle down & start a family. But it wasn't easy to find that life partner.

I'M NOT CRYING, I'M NOT CRYING 😭😭 Also, Josh telling Marissa that he's happy for her after he found out about her divorce was the best line ever. Who came up with that line? Congratulating someone for a divorce instead of being awkward about it has to be the best way to handle smth that should be more normalized. I love that they threw this plot into the story.
