Steve went from being just Nancy's boyfriend to the Mother of several children. And that is the character development of a lifetime. I don't really like how Mike is neglecting some of his friends though. You can balance being a good boyfriend and being a good friend. And Mike isn't really doing good on the friend stuff. At the very least, he checked on Will when they were at the movies but poor Dustin literally just got back and they couldn't even spend a few hours with him. Also, I don't like Mike in certain instances, but Hopper was way out of line with the whole Nana thing. You don't lie about someone's family member potentially being in danger just to get your point across. Still love Hopper, but that was kinda yikes. I get it. He's protective over El. But there are certain things you just don't do.

I think Mike’s a bit of a jerk too but it’s a pretty honest depiction of young people and their first “love” VS friend group absolutely love these kids ❤️

In my opinion, Mike is the best character this season when it comes to the stupid relationship drama stuff. He did literally nothing wrong. He was acting like a kid. Yeah, he *could* have spent more time with his friends. But he literally thought el was dead for a whole year. It makes sense he'd spend as much time with her as he could. And as for hopper, I completely agree. I feel like too many people excuse his behavior because they like him, but his behavior thos whole season made me uncomfortable because he was acting like a super toxic man-child. He literally sabotaged his daughter's relationship and then celebrated about it. Then he was toxic around Joyce the whole season until the last few episodes. And then there was max and el who made almost entirely baseless assumptions and treated mike like he was satan just because he was showing genuine concern for el's safety(though i dont blame el that much because it honestly seemed like she didnt truly understand what it meant to "break up" with someone). Honestly, I blame the tonal shift they tried for this season.

This season has a different tone than all the others it’s got a more comedic vibe that takes getting used to but I love it it’s definitely a breathe of fresh air in between the seasons bc I’m sure season 5 will have a more serious tone as well. Also the vibes of this season are immaculate. Like the vibe in 2019 like summer of 2019 was awesome when this came out and it came out on the 4th of July like it was perfect. You’ll enjoy this season just keep that in mind tho.

Finally somebody who likes season 3

all of the wheeler’s intimacy issues and it started w their parents 😭 affection isnt really thrown around in that household, which is also why we barley ever see mike and nancy as actual siblings or with holly.

Here's the thing about Mrs. Wheeler, she's with this guy who has no ambition, no clue. He seems to stand completely on the opposite side of her on all the important things they each consider EXCEPT for their children. But he's different to his daughters then he is to his sons. And he never seems to see his wife. She's kept their home nice, raised their kids, but he's not openly affectionate and I think she's reached a point where she needs that in her life. I think she's incredibly intelligent but she got married out of school. It's sad but it's also why Mike & Nancy have intimacy issues/relationship issues. I wish we knew what he really thought of his family and friends.

I like her but I mean that doesn’t constitute for her to go out and cheat with an 18 year old, her husband goes out and provides for his family every day to make sure they’re well looked after with a good job, if she’s feeling lonely or anything she can talk to him about it after all communication is one of the biggest things in a relationship, also Nancy and wills relationships at their age are normal

@@JazMegan Did she go out and cheat on her husband though? We don't know. It implies that she stopped because she realized what she was throwing away if she does it. But you also have to understand that she also spent the season and part of the first season reading romance novels. This became a big thing in the 80's (it was always a big thing but the story format changed drastically in itself as well). She's feeling that unfulfillment that created the Feminine Mystique. Holly's about to go to school and she'll have all day to do nothing but "keep house". You'll see her talking about really big issues of the time over the phone with someone but she's a sexpot at the pool. She feels unseen and possibly old? (However that is not a critique on the actress who is the sexiest lady, seriously, lady, my goodness)! It was something I saw in my mom and my aunts. You saw it in other ladies who were the "hot moms". Guys can never forget that society always tells us that we're not pretty enough, smart enough, strong enough, whatever enough. I have been married to my husband for almost 20 years, been together for 24. He knows that it's not his fault (at least all the time) that I feel unseen, unworthy, and ugly...I just feel exhausted from all the requirements that are expected of me. Also, I was a voracious avid reader as a child and stole my mom and older sister's romance novels from the 80's. Those were wild. There was 2 styles of romance novels then (strong heroines and heroes, or semi-strong heroines who experienced a SA with or without the hero present) and I read those at 7. The books without the SA were more love stories and actually fun stories to read. The ones with it...could be these amazing stories that started from a horrible moment and even blossom into a revenge/redemption arc which was awesome or keep bordering just, get somewhere good eventually.

Season 3 of Stranger Things takes a real left turn as it moves to a far far bigger cinematic feel , bigger in every way and set during the summer it is so much more vibrant and colourful as the show embraces the 80s action and comedy movies with excellent homages to so many movie moments.

I personally didn't like the tonal shift. Me personally, I kind of hated the more comedic shifts. Especially with how they made hopper an immature man-child for a lot of the season because "haha. He's an overprotective dad." The way they had him act this season was super toxic and immature. I preferred when the characters were more realistic. Fortunately, this was the only season I felt that way for. Seasons 1,2, and 4 are all great

The beginning! Of the 2 best seasons of the show

Season 1 (Starts in November 1983): - Main Cast = 7th Graders - Nancy and Jonathan = Sophomores - Steve = Junior Season 2 (Starts in October 1984): - Main Cast = 8th Graders - Nancy and Jonathan = Juniors - Steve and Billy = Seniors Season 3 (Starts in June 1985): - Main Cast = Summer after 8th Grade/before Freshman year - Nancy, Jonathan, and Robin = Summer after Junior year/before Senior year - Steve and Billy = Summer after graduating high school There's some debate on what grade some of the older kids are in (i.e. Billy and Robin, possibly both one year younger), but this is what made sense to me based on their dialogue, interactions, and some quick birthday searches. However, hopefully this is still helpful in giving you an idea of the spacing/aging taking place between each season. Love the reactions! Can't wait to see what you guys think of the rest of seasons 3 and 4.

Yeah, Billy and Robin are both either some of the youngest of their grade or some of the oldest depending on what grade they are actually in. It could be either way but I’m thinking along the lines of what you stated.

Im very late to this, but imo that's not a good excuse. It's an excuse for her being attracted to Billy, but not a good excuse for her to try and act on that attraction without ending things with her husband. Like they said, if I were the husband and I found out, I'd likely never fully trust her again

@@grahamations cinematography also integrates the composition of the scenes and sometimes season 4 feels like a clip show with majority of the footage being flashbacks. I think every season has its strengths, but as far as cinematography goes, s3 exceeds in my opinion.

This season is like the odd one out in terms of overall tone compared to 1, 2, and 4 but I still find it entertaining. The thing with Mrs Wheeler and Billy was EXTREMELY weird. I am not sure why they went in this direction. I get that she is not happy in her marriage but Billy... seriously? He literally went to school with Nancy and was the same age as her daughter's boyfriend (when she was dating Steve).

It is the summer of 1985. Steve had just graduated from high school and the new character is his co worker Robyn.

my opinion is, sure you can keep bringing up a shitty thing Jonathan did but people change and not only has he developed but he apologized for it and admitted he shouldn’t have done it so i don’t think it’s fair to continue bashing him for it especially when other characters have also done shitty things. people are allowed to grow! love y’all’s reactions

I understand Mike more than many people because all my friends were in serious relationships (in some cases before high school), and I just had to slowly accept that they had lives beyond us hanging out all the time. They’re are still in those relationships today and we’re all about to be 30, and I’m the only one who is single but I try to make plans with them every few months. I have seen a lot of people destroy Mike post season 2 and I think it’s unfair, he is just trying to spend time with his girlfriend who he spent an entire year thinking that she was dead. Who wouldn’t do the same.

Just a heads up this season is a lil more toned down from previous (it still has it's big moments) seasons. It's a breath of fresh air and the vibes this season especially in 2019 are immaculate and feel so nostalgic. Which is one of the reasons I feel people love this season so much is because of that.
