SilentSky someone actually did this to me and my friends when we were 12 my friend lived in the complex but he forgot the key to get passed the doors and we didn't have cell phones back then and when we dialed in no one picked up. And while we were chilling outside waiting for his parents to reach this lady came wandered around opened the door then pulled it closed so it locked with us outside. Very confused how 4, 12 year olds looked like thieves but all well

Fun Story: I've been in multiple situations like this and I always hate it cause I don't want to let people in, but I also feel like a horrible person. The one time I was exhausted and wasn't taking jack from nobody, I saw someone on their phone at the gate of my old apartment complex and swiped my key to get in. I literally slid right in and the guy yield out, "hey man, can you let me in? I think my girlfriend fell asleep so I can't get in through the gate. I have a key to her room." I looked him dead in the eyes and was like "I have trust issues". Then I turned around to go upstairs and he yield "you dip [insert your favorite word here], let me in". I gave him the finger and kept walking. I felt like a jerk until I found out that "his girlfriend" was his ex and they had just broken up a week before this incident. He also threatened her once.

I never let people in like that. They could pretty much always just ring the doorbell of who evers home it is they want to get into and let them be the judge, or call them on their phone if they're not there or call the landlord if they locked themselves out, or come back later. Yes there might be some instances where there really are no other options. But those are so rare that it's pretty much always some sketchy business I shouldn't be getting involved in.

Zodayn Yeah, It’s pretty common for thieves in my area to ask someone to let Them in (They usually say that It’s a package for one of their neighbours and that the buzzer is broken) Then They check if There’s unlocked Doors (happens often, since the front door since the front door should be locked) if not, They break open a door and hope that people assume It’s just some Random Sound.

If they’re really meant to be there they’ll go through the appropriate channels to get in (checking in at the reception desk, asking their friend/SO for the code). Otherwise, they might just be there to hurt one of the residents. It seems rude, but it’s just better to direct them to the reception desk

Silly Kittenx He thought he left his wallet by the jacuzzi but he didn’t know for sure. That’s why he checked his car and stuff. The fact that it was in a slightly different place is possibly just down to a mistake in the memory of a drunk guy. But the fact that he gave the wrong name is a definite problem.

Ugh I absolutely HATE such situations. In my apartment complex, to enter the building, all residents are given a key card. 3 per residence as far as I know. And those who don’t have keycards (mainly kids, guests and delivery people) there’s a video door phone located near the card sensor. And there’s a sheet with all house numbers stuck next to it. Til before Covid, the security guard would open the door (when I was coming back from school. Prob cuz he knew that I live there but my parents didn’t give me the card) but now he doesn’t. When you call through the video thing, the people in the house can see you but you can’t see them. The problem is that I live in the house with the number 0101 which is the easiest number to dial. And that’s the number which is shown in the demo (the video phone flashes a demo of how to use it) so most people assume that if they call the number, the door will open. This was so annoying. We would get nearly 5 calls daily. And most of the time, we won’t know them but I’d still open the door. I didn’t know any better. Even residents who forgot the card would call our number instead of their own for some reason. It got difficult to tell apart whether it was a delivery person or a stranger. Now I know better and don’t open the door for most people. I just let it ring and don’t care. I think now they know that calling my number won’t open the door, we don’t receive many calls. Nowadays this only happens once or twice in a week. Thank goodness, it was actually pretty annoying for all of us😂

I let a dude in once and he went straight to the neighbors door and started pounding on it and yelling obscenities at the lady inside. Won't do that again. Only me.

Our school rented the entire hostel for a trip. I lended my key to a roommate because she forgot hers. I was already in the building, but I couldn’t get on the floor. I was trapped between two floors, holding a bath towel and a hair dryer. I just wanted to go back to my room. But man, I was treated like a suspicious person. That was very dehumanizing. I think it’s great to be careful, but analysis is important too!

I've never been in this situation but if it was me, I think I would act like I didnt hear them and walk away...sorry bud but I'm not gonna get killed in this condo
