You are so right. The ash will rejuvenate the soils, and the lava, well it made this island, and now there's more! The onshore winds are carrying toxic gasses. I have confidence that the authorities know what to do.

My great grandfather died of silicosis at 50 years of age - he was a gold miner in Charters Towers, Australia. Recently people have been getting sick from their jobs cutting granite for kitchen bench tops here in Australia also. It is a serious risk, and adequate PPE is essential if you aren't going to move away.

The best news reports coming out of La Palma are yours! I'm praying this volcano is calming down and going to quit as suddenly as it began.

At the very first start of the Volcano, our news on the Weather Channel had basically a scare tactic going on that there would be a HUGE tsunami which would hit the entire East Coast of US . And it would cover entire state of Fla and more than 1/2 of the states in a line northward. If you have guessed by now I live in Tampa Fla, we already have enough low land and water here!! I don’t even swim!! 🙃 So I didn’t want to be caught In any stupid tsunami. The Weather Channel being the astute and factual people they are, said that if started, the tsunami would be here in 8 hrs after it started. Heck we would be in a long line and NOT out of the State by then. I mean you do need to pack food, clothes and….., right?! When I found BEAR, I was amazed by his calmness, in 3 days I decided ok, it’s not going to be so bad afterall. Now I know it probably can be, I will be ready ~ I just HOPE that my daughter, granddaughter and GREATgranddaughter will be. I’d hate to see us all drown! Sorry to ramble on. Have a nice day! And we will all pray for a “Happy Ending” ~ after all I want to see how the movie ends!

You know it’s always been a joke since I can remember about Fla breaking off and sinking. When I saw the map on the weather channel that was the first thing I thought of. 🙂 BTW, did you know that during the first week of Bears Volcano, Hawaii, Alaska, Iceland ALL 3 had working volcanos, and I think somewhere near Japan there was on. At least that’s what I read. Of course the way the world is now, you got to wonder if maybe these had a little help from unknown sources!

A scientist is trying to explain the cause of recent magmatic unrest to the President, but he is using big scientific terms that are hard to understand. A girl in the room says, "The Earth has a bad case of double burrito indigestion!" And the President says, "That I can understand!"

That's not how la palma volcano works. More vents and cracks means more risk of loosening of the west part of island.

Actually water intrusion can build pressure at extreme rates and greatly increase the chances of a massive explosion.

@@MAihnoav can't say. Depends on number of earthquakes and severity of eruptions and number of new vents and cracks opening up. The chance will increase when magma comes in contact with groundwater which causes an explosion.

depending on the mineral content of all that ash, it could be turned into gemstones. The ash from Mount St. Helens was turned into lovely green gemstones called “Helenite.” Maybe some rock hounds on La Palma could try the same thing and sell it in tourist stores.

I'm sure there is some really interesting minerals and rocks already around the island considering it is all volcanic.

Yes, we monitor the eqs. I really enjoy you "on the scene" reporting. I saw drone footage this morning and was impressed with the new land formation. I also looked up the length of time the past eruptions lasted and seems like the ave, is about 30 days, 28-35. So, we are watching. La Palma looks like a beautiful island to visit. Thank you for your inspirational videos. Love it!

I hate to say it but I feel like the explosion will happen anyway, the earthquakes are becoming more frequent, and the pressure is still building up, I don’t know if the eruption is letting out enough to relieve the built up pressure 😩 I’m sick to stomach over it, I really think they need to evacuate the entire island immediately
