My Lord, how wonderful was this band. ELO was one of the best rock groups ever.
RIP Richard Tandy.
16 in 1976, first job, first paycheck, first car, I bought ELO's record, Jeff's an amazing song writer, his songs were constantly on the radio back then, it was a year of firsts😉

Outstanding acoustics and performance. Midnight Special is the best source of live performance from the best music era, likely to never equaled.

ELO brings back so many early childhood memories of the late 70s. Can’t believe I can remember the 70s…

I saw ELO in March 1976 at Cobo Arena in Detroit. What a show, I was a lucky guy in 1976. So many great shows.
Thank you for the memories Midnight Special!! ELO is at the top of my favorites list!
So beautifully done for this live performance! The dreamy keyboard sound and the strings make it so magical, and Jeff in his iconic hair and glasses! I love ELO! 💜 Thank you, Midnight Special!

They were unique even among the 1970s. Most other rock bands cheated using purely Mellotron for the orchestral strings. Or would play out the symphonic roffs wth electric guitars. Btw, why did you stop with the Thomas & Friemds Mad Bomber fanon?

Jeff Lynn produced the Beatles at one time. He is a phenomenal musician, producer.
Saw them in concert in 1979. What a show! Even from the nosebleed section! Worth the time and the money. Wish I could go again. Thank you Jeff Lynne and ELO for the wonderful memory.

As has often been said......"we all know it goes down on the Midnight Special".....ELO is no exception.....this was mellow gold right here.
Timeless, epic, brilliant, perfect.
The string section (and whole band with Jeff, obviously) here live is superb -thanks for posting!
❤❤❤❤How can you not LOVE this? ❤❤❤❤
One of my favorites of theirs. But I have many favorite ELO songs.
Such a talented singer/songwriter and musician…😄
I will finally see the Magic in September. RIP to Mr. Tandy and Peace to his family and friends.

I prefer Wurlitizer. Femder Rhodes electric pianos sound a bit too corny.
the fucking tone of those instruments, it cannot be replicated man you just had to be there
Sometimes I find myself wondering if that era in my life even existed
1976 - Summer vacations - Ocean City, Maryland - This song was on the air in every pool, bar, magazine, hall or restaurant - Sweet memories of my youth...
This is one of my very favorite songs from the 70s. Kind of mellow & mystifying . It reminds me of my grandchildren ( 4 girls & 1 boy). 1 of the girls in particular, Breanna ( my Goojah) this song reminds me the most. She has a strange magic over her grandpa ( Me). She's had this strange magic over her grandpa, since she was born. All my babies have a strange magic over their grandpa, but my Goojah, a little more than the others. She's about 12 yrs. old right now, (roughly) The sad thing is, their grandma & I aren't together anymore. You see, they're not my biological grandchildren, but I have always treated them, as if they were. I miss them so much, it hurts me dearly , especially my Goojah. I hope to be able to see them again someday. If God is willing.
My favorite line up with Richard Tandy on keys, Kelly Groucutt bass, and exceptional vocals, and nice to see Bev Bevan out front.
They are just great
Magnificent. Thank you The Midnight Special.❤
I love the way Jeff Lynne almost talks this song………beautiful voice……………butter melting………..
Good stuff!! Good stuff.
I love the strange magic Jeff Lynne and ELO had. Wow.
it’s a shame Jeff Lynne couldn’t find more use for Bev Bevan‘s drumming abilities in the band, however, it’s such a treat to see and hear Bev performing with his incredible bass voice in a live capacity. for more of Bev’s amazing vocals, check out these songs by The Move: Don’t Mess Me Up Zing! The "Electric Beatles". The soundtrack of my young years in Colorado Springs. Good times.

I have probably had Face the Music at least 15 different times since my brother first brought it home in 1984. I've had it in record, on cassette and CD. This is easily my favorite all time album

Great music and a great band
That was really fn good on many levels ✌️
Saw them in 1977
Unusual to see Bev step down from behind the kit with a tambourine to assist with backing vocals, but still great job!
My favorite ELO song. You had to have talent then to sound like this live.
I could use The Scorpions to stay awake behind the wheel. This dreamlike song could put me to sleep!
Why isn't Richard Tandy ranked up there with Rick Wakeman, Keith Emerson, Tony Banks and other progressive rock keyboardsmen?
What a truly magical performance!
Approved.
In their album version, there are no drums for the first almost minute and a half ( there are a few symbols) of the song. Here live, they went with no drumming for the entire song.
So great 🎶💖
Awesome drumming by Bev Bevan!!! What? No drumming on this song? Oh, uh, well to the best of my recollection he's a great drummer!
I'm not from that era but an uncle and my father taught me many things from the mid-70s. There is a movie that represents that time, it is called The Virgin Suicides, many classics sound like it.
Incredible
I was 16 the first time I saw this crazy band with Chellos. Loved the music ever since.
The best simple.
I remember this song from Jr. High!
The 🌎 would be a little less good if that song had never been brought into the 🌎.
cool to see Bev on vocals, haven’t seen that before

Yes, Bev was the DEEP voice in ELO! If you listen to songs like Mr. Blue Sky, Sweet Talkin' Woman, and many others, you'll hear a low baritone voice in the background. That's him! And if you want to hear him sing lead, check out the songs Ben Crawley Steel Company, and Zing Went The Strings Of My Heart, both by The Move.
The orchestration of electromagetic waves is her strange spectral magic.😮
MUSIC L.E.G.E.N.D.S 🎧🎸🔊 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Tempo em que musica era mexer com as emoções bem la do fundinho do coração ♥
Just wish they would have included Natalie Cole's intro from June 25, 1976, for this very same video, "And I love them, please welcome the Electric Light Orchestra" 😎
Beverley!!! Bevan. The crush I had on this man. I read that he and Jeff Lynne haven’t spoken in over thirty years. What? My babies.💔

Promo Face The Music. Amazing.
Not the first album I bought, but one of the first.
This song and Todd Rundgren's "Hello it's Me" always leaves me with the most confused emotions. It's weird because I get a dark almost doomed feeling, yet also a happy euphoric feeling. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?!!!
