4" at the dam equals a heck of a lot more along the shoreline. My Dad had it figured here as 1' at the dam is about 10' of shoreline in front of the house. Each place is different of course.

Gradient plays a big part. I had it accounted for at a 4" drop. Didn't factor it in for a 12" drop.

Good fish! Y'all have been having a good trip. As far as the boat being aground, I'm thinking I wouldn't mind being stranded on a deserted island for a day or two. I know I've been stranded in much worse places! 😉Chris, I don't blame you man, I hate identifying as a septuagenarian myself. 😁

What river is that? Don’t care too much the area just curious where you fish when it’s freezing cold in Iowa! Trying to get out and do some fishing myself

Definitely stretched your net out on this trip. Hopefully y'all didn't compare this trip to y'all's adventures across the big pond, back when y'all were catching those poor cats trapped in that body of water almost empty compared to it's normal full level. LOL, that looked to be a good time for all. Although y'all held up close to the same standards on this trip comparatively speaking. Stay well, and as always be safe
