STRANDED In a SNOW STORM… (Bronco Mod Failed Me)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I met up with Will from @Venture2Roam and Rob from @RevereOverland to do some Winter camping and snow wheeling in a snowstorm in Southern Idaho. The trip did not go as planned however. My steering rack froze over on the trail, which forced us to diagnose on the trail and get creative with a solution.

Beautiful video. Great cinematography and story telling. However, your Bronco didn’t fail you. The Icon tie rods come with outer clamps, and their instructions tell you to install them. Of course your boots have to have clamps on BOTH ends. If someone else installed these for you, then they failed. I hope you get it fixed up the right way.

I plan on making a video about this issue when I get an answer from them and find a resolution

Any reason to not use chains when you get on the trails?

Proper chains are much too heavy for OffTheGrind. He would have to hit the gym and get carnivore to handle a set of chains. 😂😂😂😂

@AngerManagementOverland I lifted your mom just fine. I think I can handle some chains

What time of year specifically? Its nice to see some in the off season, as my work doesn't allow me time off in the summer and this is my dream. Coming from Alaska it takes awhile.

I noticed you do not have mud flaps. Is there a reason?

Great video and storytelling. I see the video promoting those tie rods and end cap is still up, however. Do you still endorse them?? Was there a solution/resolution apart from never going to the cold?

Thanks so much! So the tie rods absolutely not. I don’t like them at all. And the company is not great. But 74 weld I love and would do that again in a heartbeat. They are such a great bunch of dudes and not the reason for this failure

Any one playing in the snow should.have tire chains. Those spots you called sketchy is everyday occurrence in our neck of the woods. Beautiful country.

My question is, who performed the installation of the aftermarket components? Was this a DIY job or done by a shop? I very much doubt a Ford service department is going to even touch it…

I did the instal. I was told, that the boots would sit in the notch on the tie rod. I didn’t really trust that and should have questioned it more. But ultimately decided that they designed it that way so it was okay

What an adventure. Excellent drone footage, editing and incredible scenery. I'm 107 Certified and have a squadron of DJI Drones. What did you use to capture your outstanding aerial video? "Discretion Is The Better Part of Judgement"......... and choosing to not go any further when you and your group decided to turn around. Semper Fly.

Thanks so much for that man. Pushing the limits is important but I feel it’s also important to know your limits and push them gradually with as little risk as possible as you overcome. But yeah man I appreciate that. So there was a collection of drones used in this one, all from DJI. There was a mini 3 pro, a mavic 3, and a mavic 3 pro
