Hey man I didn't start speedrunning out of nowhere, I've played hundreds of hours of regular gameplay on this game, since before it even had an ending. My first save was like 400 days and trust me, I didn't have a gyrocopter by day 60. Yeah the glitch is pretty OP, some people don't like it but hey, we work with the tools we have... especially really, really fun ones!

I've thought of trying to do back to back speedruns where I clip them together but then I remember I've never played The Forest lol

Noice work! Can I suggest making all ur flasks and engine parts while waiting for the stairs to render in then when u jump to the plane do food and water first so u r not going back up and down the stairs beside the airplane. Only little things but it will cut a couple secs perhaps

I also have Deep Play, which is just normal gameplay except with all custom player made islands on the map. It's mildly helpful but more for the entertainment value of me doing goofy shit. Well, maybe, I still need spears for crafting levels to a certain degree because there definitely arent enough stones to make up for all that crafting xp I would lose out on. But I can't argue that getting better with the axe would just generally help me kill him faster.

Any documentation for how to do that speed running / swimming / long jump glitch? Also how did he survive the fall after jumping out of the ocean so high lol. These look like fun glitches to just mess around with.

When you speedwalk and jump from just under the water you do the superjump thing I call swim jumping. My guess is that the game registers your height at just above the water so you can land anywhere right after doing that from any height and not get hurt. First time I did it I was certain I would die... but nope, just land like superman.

It's a hardware glitch that stacks a bunch of forward commands on top of eachother, propelling me at several times the mas speed. It's actually faster than the dev controls lol

So i think i have found 2 possible seeds for speed running. Try 39306699 or 39348036. Theyre almost mirror imaged of each other. Im on ps4, dont know if that will affect the seed roll on pc but definitely worth a look. I hope its what your looking for or atleast shave some time on an already impressive speed run. Unfortunately, ps island numbers don't translate to pc. You guys are still on the 5x5 grid map and we are on the big new world that has over 40 islands each. If I rollec back my game to the version you guys are on it would be the same. I still checked out both seeds just on the chance that they were still good but they aren't that decent, sadly. It's neither normal nor TAS. It is a hardware glitch that allows me to stack forward commands on top of eachother and the game percieves that as me going at super speed. The jumping thing is just a product of the stacked forward commands as well. Everything is manually input, no extra programs or alterations to the game.

the momentum of my speedwalking carries through when I jump from just below the water and propels me suuuuper far up sometimes. You can jump from within the water without glitches too, just not that far

Anyone know how I move items from my backpack into boxes or a storage?

You open a crate then click on the backpack in the wheel that comes up, that will open your inventory and clicking an item will move it over to the crate if it has space. On pc press tab to open the crate and mouse clicks for the rest. I'm not terribly familiar with controller settings but i think xbox is left bumper to open and x or a to "click" an item. No clue about PS

So normally, when you're not going super speed, if you stop just below the water and press jump you actually launch yourself a bit out of the water. The speedwalking glitch makes a sort of artificial momentum by stacking forward commands on top of each other, so when I do the jump from just below the water it propels me up in the air a proportional amount to however many stacks I have accumulated. The game thinks that I'm still just a tiny bit above the water though so I can fall to the ground with no fall damage. It's pretty op but hey, I just work with the tools I find!

Wtf I didn't even get far enough to know there are even actual bosses in this game lol

No its all on normal, im usually going too fast for sharks to get me but in my random seed run there were at least 2 times a random shark hit me while going at super speed, also you can see in the settings when i begin my run everything is set to normal settings, aggressive wildlife

This is a hardware glitch that stacks forward commands and makes me go at very high speeds. Then, if I jump from just below the water while speedwalking (as I call it) the artificial momentum of the stacked forward commands propels me way up in the air. I can actually go faster than dev controls with this glitch. Yes, I tell anyone how to do it, I just don't post it publicly so the devs don't find it and patch it out. It's a glitch that allows me to stack forward inputs, propelling me at super speed. That same glitch lets me jump way out of the water while the game thinks I'm just above the surface so I don't receive any fall damage.

Normal game player speed is about 1/10th of this. I mean, I go at several different speeds, but generally speaking. This is the glitches allowed run so I'm utilizing a glitch that lets me stack forward commands and move at incredible speeds. It also allows me to get insane heights on jumps out of the water which result in no fall damage. I'm not entirely sure why this happens, I think the artificial momentum of the stacked forward inputs just throws me up in the air like that when I jump from just under the water, and I would guess that the game is still registering my character height as just above the water so I take no fall damage.

Shoot me a message on social media and ill explain exactly how it works if youd like. They do go for me when speedwalking but they aren't usually able to catch me since Im going so fast. I have another speedrun coming out in a few days where I got nailed by a shark while speedwalking to another island. They are there, just usually too slow to bite me.

I'm glad I bought subnautica. Look at the running speed and swimming speed. For a second I thought you used speed cheat.

Maybe, but switching weapons takes a bit of time, more than just zipping up to meg, and the axe does more damage than a crude spear. I might try some tests to see if it helps at all but I'm thinking the time difference would be negligible if not slower.

He had asked my permission to do a review of a previous run of mine but then it got beaten like the next day. I'm glad he didn't though, this run is art compared to that! I'm on his radar tho so maybe!

It's an action stacking glitch that stacks forward commands and makes me go at super speed, message me on reddit/twitter and I'll share the method

It's an action stacking glitch that propels me at speeds faster than god mode and when coupled with their water jumping system flings me way tf up in th air while the game thinks im just above the water so i recieve no fall damage
