I play all 3 subclasses. Last year, stasis Titans dominated PvE and arc Titans dominated PvP. It took a very long time before a nerf occurred. Stop complaining when other subclass builds are currently better than one you use. Try other subclasses. It’s free to do so

I feel like people are missing the point of the new exotic. It's for team play. Be around your fireteam, get a ton of melee energy back, keep spamming melee. Syntho is still good if you just want a solo build. I still like Wishful Ignorance, I do wish they buffed the damage a bit more but is overall fine.

Trash exotic, you are better off using synthos even playing in a group.

New exotic gives almost the same total damage increase as Synthoceps, massively increases how fast you get your melees back, doesn't require you to be surrounded to get the damage bonus, and even makes Flechette Storm a viable ranged melee option. Ehroar: it's trash, use the prismatic exotic on strand

these are great points I hadn't considered. they couldn't make them do more damage than synthos with biotic enhancements proc'd because then there would be no use case for synthoceps. These give you basically unlimited powered melees as long as there are things to kill. Building wish ignorance this way clearly distinguishes it from both synthoceps and worm god. sucks that they nerfed 1-2 punch, these would be crazy with that.

It’s trash because it’s easy to get melee back already and the damage is not equal to synthoceps. Flechette storm is still better with synthoceps or wormgod than on this exotic

They nerf 1-2 punch a while a go to not proc on 2 melee.

No banner on Prismatic…. What a joke of an exotic. I’m happy I didn’t waste resources on it. I swear Titans have gotten tea banged continuously during final shape and Prismatic. Prismatic Titan does one thing well is melee slam. It gets old. Was running it before Prismatic

"damage less, exotic bad" except you have range, you can easily flood the field with unraveling, constantly have banner of war up, and still pump out a ton of damage, but sure, the exotics bad. Lol. Edit: also love the "synthos can kill a champion in one hit" Ya if there's adds around or you get to and stun it within 5 seconds. Synthos should absolutely do more damage than these because these have much more utility than synthos. Synthos do one thing and they should be the best at it.

I think the one use case for the new Wishful exotic is for situations where you are unable to proc synthos (IE melee target where you aren't surrounded by enemies.

Or any situation where you have enough allies to pull off multiple four melee combos in a single phase. The second you do a second full combo in a given phase vs the single full combo synthos would be able to achieve, this exotic will suprass synthos. And what about a Raid? Does the exotic charge your melee even as you are actively using Flechette storm? With A flechette storm volley costing only 50% melee, couldn't you just keep throwing volleys for an entire phase if you space your throws well?

You went over flechette storm but didn't seem to clock that the one instance where these Wishful Ignorance are clearly better than Synthoceps would be specifically for Flechette Storm. The whole point of Flechette is that it turns your powered melee charges into very quick ranged projectile attacks, rather than a traditional close-quarters melee. When Flechette is used at a range, as intended, Synthoceps does nothing for Flechette. So what's really the point of Wishful Ignorance (other than getting your melee charges back very quick) is that you can now throw out 4 projectiles in a row, at a PRETTY DECENT range, with just -15% less damage than Syntho. Which is an interesting trade-off worth exploring. Prior to Wishful ignorance you coldn't properly buff Flechette, outside of the 40% melee damage increase from Banner.

@@Brzbrngr Syntho is 150% boost while Wormgod max stacks is 275%. It'd definitely win in power plus you get a 30% boost to all weapons and unlike before it's pretty easy to keep the stacks especially stack 3 and below which is 165%

The gauntlets also need to buff the frenzied blade of the super.

Wishful Ignorance's main selling point is it's perfect gameplay loop that only improves with build crafting

Im liking the flechette melee in grouo content. It can be spammed, and you're constantly healing your friends . That, in combination with the new healing gun, i feel like a healer

Flechette is amazing, but another alternative is using Into The Fray to give your allies healing AND woven mail, and every time you get Woven Mail, your melee gets energy. It stacks with Wishfuls so you get your charges back VERY quickly.

I mean the big thing is that it gives you melee charges back. Granted with pugilist and other ways to recharge abilities it might not be that big of a difference but like you said - you have so many melee charges that you kinda don't know what to do with them, when using Wishful Ignorance. Synthoceps is clearly a better burst DPS option if you just want to nuke individual targets but being able to roam around pretty much constantly meleeing things, never caring about "wasting" a melee. It's a pretty fun build to use imho. All that Bungie will do is further nerf Synthoceps which is just an incredibly boring fix, shame.

Damage isn't the main point of the exotic, it's the infinite loop of melee energy that you get from playing with teammates, the damage is there to compliment the extra melee and energy along with incentivizing using flachette storm, which in 99% of real scenarios, you wouldn't have syntho buff to begin with.

@@cadepttbro this buffs fletchette storm too at range which synthos doesnt while giving you an extra melee and fletchette storm charge. It makes fletchette storm actually good and worth using. Pair that with the massive melee regen while still getting a very big damage buff to your other melees even if it’s less then synthos, all at the same time is very good.

@@cadepttsynthos doesn’t give you an extra melee charge, doesn’t buff flethette storm, and has 0 melee regen abilities at all. This also doesn’t require multiple enemies to be nearby it buffs all your damage no matter what. You get way more melee spam with this than synthos also. There’s plenty of reasons to use this over synthos.

One advantage of Wishful Ignorance is that you don't need to have any ads around during boss damage to get the melee bonus. If you can't get your team to stop ad clearing, then Wishful will give you better damage than Synthos.

As far as im concerned Hoil needs a full revert to 10s and titan needs another playstyle other than melee. Based on day 1 stats titan is dead and bungie killed it.

Honestly, this exotic would make so much more sense if prismatic had banner of war. Right now, you have almost 0 ways to recharge your ability energy on prismatic titan, and this would've been decent for spamming consecration at least.

The main benefit I see for wishful is being able to have farily comparable damage without being surrounded, especially on bosses like herald in the raid where you can use it with tractor to still do decent damage

I wonder how he's gonna make the exotic class item work on Strand 🧐 They should also have called the new gloves "Wishful Thinking", just to really rub it in how shit titan is 🤣

I think these were more designed to be used with flechette storm plus if you notice you get times 3 with the first melee so you actually take advantage of the full buff for longer

They are bro. Synthos doesn’t buff fletchette storm unless you’re right in the enemies face and surrounded. Fletchette Storm is meant to be used at mid to long range as a way to spam melee attacks and unravel shit though, so using it with synthos sucks. This new exotic can buff the damage on it at any range. It also lets you spam it wayyy more due to the extra melee charge and the massive melee regen it gives you. Fletchette Storm on Synthos sucks. On this new exotic it’s actually really good and worth using finally.

In my opinion it's pretty decent balancing of Wishful and Syntho's. One straight up gives you more damage, but the other provides a lot more uptime. So you can choose which you prefer and one will be better in certain scenarios than the other.

I see a Bungie developer looking at this and thinking, yeah, he's right. The damage with the new Exo should be higher than Synthoceps. Let's nerf Synthoceps to the ground so the new Exo is valuable.

Hazardous propulsion + grand overture. Use shoot to loot retraced path to reload grand overture (slow reload is prob worst part about the gun) and to stack exodus rocket charges by precision hitting big targets (and applying voltshot). Grand overture let's you absolutely dump damage when the opportunity arises (talking about on witness), then you can restock volley charges easily with hipfire normal shots to recharge the burst (long dps phase so can do 2 full volleys). The call is obvious slot 1, slot 2 is Indebted kindness if you don't vibe with the trace rifle and just want to be more basic but still solid.

I got 6.5 million in 2 damage phases with my slideshot explosive light crux termination and star eater axes... Also the one debuffing the boss for everyone else. Titan damage on witness is more than suitable if you know what you're doing. Hunter's ease of use is what's making them insane right now, but still hunt will get a nerf undoubtedly.

Titan main my whole life, but prismatic titan is so bad it’s crazy, everything we have is nerfed bad, Warlock and Hunter is just so much stronger, better and more fun rn

did you even try prismatic titan? having 3 consencration slams is insanly good, combined with the suppression grenade or the shackle and the fragment which makes you deal more dmg against targets afflicted with darkness debuffs and aditionally to that, having knockout is really good

You can use flachette with synthos and get sustainable healing? You only need one melee kill (easily done with a single, unbuffed flachette storm volley) and then ally kills will charge banner of war for you. This does nothing to create sustainable healing over synthos

Only problem is Titan needs a lot more skill to do the best dps and other 2 classes are free. And the risk reward in endgame content is not great with any melee build. Titans are fundamentally a flawed design as a melee class isn't for endgame period.

There are very few boss fights in most content where you aren’t surrounded and want to use your melee. One good example is final boss of warlord’s. Technically, for the extended damage phase, wishful will give you more damage…but you should just be using heavy against that boss anyway. Heavy dps will still do more damage than wishful spam. Wishful does NOT work with super, synthos does. That’s another L for this exotic.

Ehroar, Please test out the changes to bastion. I see it has the same damage increase as one-two punch, But it looks like you can get multiple melees off with it unlike one-two punch. and the damage increase to bastion after a melee seems to be quite noticeable. But Idk if the simple one-two punch -> punch combo is possibly worse than something like Bastion -> melee melee -> bastion repeat Edit: the buff is removed after your first melee just like 0ne-two punch

The buff to Bastion's charge time isn't though. Its an interesting loop between punch > shoot for damage > etc.

@Lolbsterbiscuit i prefer to run my godrolled nox. Best dps primary in the game. I dont use this build anymore. Ive adapted to a better one which is more so for high end content like gms. Full on melee builds just dont cut it unfortunately.

They do but it works once, then you have to cycle class ability and grenade to get the melee damage boost back, if you are spamming melees it only works for the first hit I think

Wishful seems like Bungie's attempt to feed more into the constant uptime slaying capabilities of Berserker Titan, but like you said, you're basically just using melee charges because you have too many. Maybe these would be useful for ammo conservation then swapping to synthos for dps, but the only time you'd need to be doing that is in high end content where synthos are needed for champs and high health enemies. Low end exotic for low tier content unfortunately.

The obvious answer is to nerf synthoceps into the dirt.

Wishful Ignorance damage buff should last and stack until banner of war runs out, and work on the super, getting a kill grants an extra stack, fixed the exotic.

60% melee energy back per tick. Think about a boss like crota or herald or even nezzerac. These situations synthos are not viable aside from crota. But you can compine this with a OTP shotty and say a heavy sword for a shotgun melee heavy attack rotation. This has a much shorter animation than grapple and so you are only limited by the 2 second melee recharge. Pairing this with something like acrius would probably be best and then even in a dungeon with 30% back per tick you would still wipe the floor. The regen is what you should be talking about and you didn't even test how many melees you can fit in 10seconds vs synthos. I guess you primarily play titan in GMs, but for raids and dungeons strand titan has always been the solo strategy, this gives it the ability to greatly benefit from teamplay.

Prismatic titan is inferior to strand titan rn, and thats 100% a fact. Hopefully they’ll buff them

Wishful is fine. 1-2 Grapple melees were meant to be patched in final shape (based on their reasoning for disabling grapple melee after shooting after grapple), so that advantage synthos has is likely getting removed in the next balance patch. Ignoring 1-2 Grapple melees, synthos is better for roam content, where you're surrounded, and wishful is better for group boss dps, where synthos will very quickly run out of charges even with its stronger buff while surrounded while Wishful can keep meleeing for far longer without a need to be surrounded. Synthos should be better for content where its buff has 100% uptime, otherwise it'd be useless. Wishful should do less damage as you can always get it going, it's less conditional compared to synthos being more situational. That's kinda how balance should generally work.

Bungie changed one two punch to not allow double melees

One thing that's good about the new exotic is that uptime on charged melee abilities since the Titan melee severs targets. The downside is that lowering the damage output by 40% only matters when you can't insta-nuke the target.

Yeah, which is in content you wouldn't/shouldn't realistically be using sythos to begin with. People like seeing big number and never consider ACTUAL situations. People thought this with chaos reach when forsaken dropped... And nobody cared and just used WoR. Unfortunately with now, nothing has been good for titans except for synthos/pyrogale/cuirass. I genuinely believe people just don't want new gear to replace their old gear or put time into putting effort to make a build with said new gear.

When you flay with these bad boys, they destroy. With banner proc ma gawd....don't regret it at all. Though still haven't obtained hazardous P yet...

Yeah now try this on all the raid bosses that are not beatable by melee. Furthermore try to survive in raids where you can not move from a point while in the damage phase.

expect you didn't show the point of the exotics which is multiple titans using them, and just spamming the charged melee over and over.

syntho is also better because it gives more damage for the berserker super

Only way to bring prismatic titan back up is give it throwing hammer so it can be paired with exotic class item using both synthos and severance

Nope. Change from Drengr's Lash to Banner of War and Consecration to Hammer of Sol.

Well I think we are all coming to grips with Titan is not the class to use in Destiny 2 at this moment in time. We are being punished for last seasons shenanigans!

They nerfed one-two punch interaction with powered melees in a recent patch. Hurt banner of war and arc hunter double melee builds sadly. Have to shoot before every melee now :/

They nerfed our best exotic, then released a new one that is twice as weak as post nerf synthos 😂 thx bungo

There will most certainly be situations where the wishful ignorance will be the superior exotic. Any in which you do not become surrounded during a damage phase, for instance, it will be putting out more damage than synthos could, and in ANY damage phase where multiple full vollies can be achieved by having allies near, it will just flat out surpass synthos even IF surrounded due to the greater dps over time.

Prismatic Titan sucks. Im going back to BoW.

My idea may be wrong but can’t you spam melee in a 6 man activity if you heal all 6 people with banner of war ? In this case won’t it be better than synthos ?
