Tony D black people with natural hair have tighter curls than that and it doesn’t look like fuzz but I know what you mean. I feel like the curls are too tight for him personally but if he likes it that way then that’s him.

@@YH-lf6pe not every product line is the same- I assume the manufacturers instructions were used here. I was pretty curious about the timing as well and would love to know if maybe it’s a different base type of perm or perhaps an extremely gentle perm.

I’ve never used a perm with a 2 hour development that seems a long time and would be impractical in salon Get the perm from a wholesalers you can do that in 1/3 the time. 20 mins development time then 10 mins rinse and 10 mins neutraliser time then rinse, conditioner rinse and wear.

Jayne Myers totally agree with you, Perm’s develop for 25/30 mins max plus the hair needs to be shampooed first ? My head is about to explode lol x

Lee Culver I was surprised his head didn’t explode with those development times but I’m sure he was following manufacturers instructions as the result was great. Don’t want to put someone else’s work down but I’ve never heard of a perm taking so long. I’m hoping they are coming back had 5 so far this year (in younger people too) after 7 years of none at all

Jayne Myers I’ve been hairdressing over 23 years & I’m a qualified assessor , perm lotion would never be left on the hair that long . I agree it was curly at the end and I too was surprised at the result . Perm lotion has the same ingredients as hair removal cream . If perms are left to process they become the same as nair . Good luck with your perms & stick to those times ha ha 😃👍 xx👍

Lee Culver I wasn’t aware of that (it’s been 20 years since my level 2) just remember it being the only process to change the chemical structure of the hair but I was surprised his hair wasn’t fried.

Ok..as a hairdresser of 34 years I have so many questions.... 2 HOURS TO PROCESS? 1 HOUR TO NEUTRALIZE?? Why? Professional perm process time is 20 minutes...neutralizer max 5 minutes. I’m so confused why, if you’re using professional products, why not get perms that process in lesser time? Time is money. I’m thoroughly confused. Help a sista out.

So when I leave the solution in for longer, the hair takes it in better. This way the perm will last longer. I use no heat so I don’t burn the har with the chemicals+heat. Through trial and error I found that 1 hour for the perm solution & 30mins to an hour for the neutraliser worked best! I have a upcoming video for this so please stay tuned.

Whats your haircut here? And how long was your hair here when you permed it. Also, do a tutorial for this specific cut you had in this vid, would appreciate it!

@@jeffersonrodriguez8008 it all depends how firm you want the curl! So like 20 min it will perm but it wont be as tight of a curl as if you wait an hour! But it also weaken the hair the longer its left in!

Danielle Mckinney I got a pretty tight perm and I asked the lady why 20 minutes, she said that’s the only time needed and that if I did it for an hour my hair would come out as jus a frizz and burnt
