Thanks to Wix for sponsoring this video
Thanks to @jma_jones for coloring the beginning skit
sorry this one wasn't as animated or lip synced, school took all my time and a deadline to be able to have an ad came super fast. Since my videos get demonetized a lot I need the sponsors. Please understand that it keeps me from the disaster of last video where I only made $15 after spending 120 hours working on it.

My best friend has been going through a lot lately and has been getting a little toxic, I said something to her and she immediately stopped. She did not realize she was doing it and felt really bad about it and has apologized atleast twice a day since then 😭 sometimes toxic friends may seem like they don't care, but sometimes just confront them. A lot of time they don't realize they are doing it. Don't get me wrong though, if they continue definitely drop them. (During the time she was being toxic, I avoided her. She came to me crying asking why I was not talking to her anymore and I explained why. It's been 3weeks since then and we are doing great 😁)

If only everyone was as mature as you. People have to realize that others have personal lives, hurdles, and even secrets that can cause stress and unconscious impulsive and toxic behavior. UNDERSTANDING CONFRONTATION IS KEY FOR PEOPLE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU TRUSTED. ( although sometimes people are just manipulative trash. Always talk first though.)

This is why communication is very important. Although terrible mental health isn't an excuse to be a bad person, it's more of an explanation on why they are like this. I think it's good to keep an open mind and try and understand them. To be honest, I don't think most people are truly terrible people. I was both toxic person and had other people be toxic towards me. Depending on the situation, the only way to move forward is not to go back. Forgive one another and especially, ourselves.

But one thing iv realized is that people have their reasons and you'll tstill have to do your part being the empath.

The "we won't be friends anymore" reminded me EXACTY of what my first toxic friend said. This friend was awful, by the way. She robbed me of my lunch money every day when I bought her cookie (12 in one day was the record). She would never say nice things to me, and she always made me do what she wanted. And her catchphrase was "or I won't be your friend anymore". Eventually, when she said that, one day, I just said, "really? That's great!" and left.

My first toxic relationship was with my best friend. Before in 1st-4th grade it was amazing, everyday we spent all of our time at each others house. but then came 5th grade. He for some reason became all rude. I was friends with the person everyone in our class called a weirdo. My best friend would always get him to be a lower role if we every played any type of game. soon enough it got so bad me and my friend would soon just play games by ourselves and relationships went down from there. My friend never came over anymore, he stopped interacting with me in class, everything was destroyed. He then moved away during summer and I haven't heard from him since even though we have each others phone number.

Oh, gosh--I feel this, I had a very toxic friend when I was little that I never really liked, and more or less ditched easily by third grade. Later, though, I met my former best mate--she was smart, loved to read just like me, and had a great attitude and great sense of humor. Overall, I loved being with her! I was always so excited to see her, and my love language is gifts, so I was always giving her affection, little things, freshly-baked sweets, etc For...whatever reason, this year, she got more standoffish, more of a perfectionist, and self-absorbed. She never approached me except even she needed a place to sit, never had time or effort to spend with me; always tried to one-up me a bit, and all-in-all, was less of my best friend than a picture taped to my wall. Because my real best friend is a really nice guy who also gets lots of love and attention and sweets from me and never tries to take advantage of it, I realized what she was doing wasn't okay. I still liked her, and tried to talk it through reasonably. She eventually ignored me altogether and yelled at me in the middle of the hall for *suspecting* she might not be a good person because of her own words and actions. She was stressed, sure, and really wanted a fan club more than friends, but my own father used to have a temper like that, so the moment she decided her personal stress was an excuse to be a jerk at an innocent, unarmed friend? Snap. Three years of close friendship, gone like *that.* I've barely blinked, and been quite happy talking about science and sharing pastries at breakfast with my real friends. Don't be a dick to your friends, kids.

Here's how to avoid sheep and save yourself time: 1. Don't look for friends on purpose. 2. Friendships are not work, if you feel like you have to try then you or them don't really care about one another or are just being fake. 3. They talk over you or when you finally talk they "yup" you or shrug off what you say just waiting for their turn. 4. They talk a lot about themselves and don't really ask about you. 5. When you discuss serious or casual topics they try to 1-up you as if it's a competition of who has had a harder life or better taste or whatever. 6. They're only there for you if they get something out of it and want you to cheer them up rather than them ever cheering you up. 7. Don't tell personal things about yourself that you wouldn't want people to know at first, leave red herrings to see if they try to out you or use it against you in arguments or when they're mad. 8. Make sure the times the person makes you feel happy far outweighs times they've made you angry or sad. 9. If you can't be yourself at the silliest, craziest, or dumbest without them judging you; then it's already a waste of time. Remember these things, I've spent plenty of time analyzing different sheep and pushing through the herds to find my two best friends for years. There's only two yeah, but I'd trust them with my life and I'd die for them. I get to be who I am and not feel judged, feel joy, and laugh, and share my hardships with them and vice versa on our darkest days. You don't need a herd to be happy when you can have real friends.

My first toxic relationship was with one of my closest friends when I was in 3rd or 4th grade- she would threaten me if I didn’t hang out with her, casually tease and bully me and then say she’s just joking, only let me do things she wanted to do, and guilt trip me on the DAILY. But the thing is I stayed friends with her for YEARS because I just didn’t know what an actual good friendship looked like since I hadn’t really had one.

Yeah you're absolutely right, staying friends with someone toxic out of politeness or whatever is a huge mistake, or thinking that you can get them to change their ways is a mistake too. One thing I've noticed with toxic people and or people with narcissistic tendencies is that they lack self awareness, so until they become more self aware, its extremely difficult for them to change. At least now you know how they operate though and will be more knowledgeable should you encounter someone similar in the future. Thanks for the vid :D

I recently got out of a toxic friendship. Bit of context, I'm transgender male to female, and I've started to express that at school. It's been hard for me but I get through it. Now I was with this friend since the previous school year, along with a bunch of other people. I'll call this friend, Bill. So as I was expressing my gender at school with things like a trans flag on my backpack (y'know small stuff) Bill decided it would be funny to post transphobic memes in our discord server. This was only the beginning. I took offense to it and my trust with him went down. Later on we got into more frequent arguments until the final one WHERE HE LITERALLY SAID I WAS TRANSGENDER FOR ATTENTION ONLY. I am not a person who craves attention, in fact I prefer to stay in the shadows. He also complained about how I was expressing myself and how I always talked about it. First, I don't talk about it too often. I mix things up. SECOND, It's a big part of my f***ing life. After that I tried my hardest to get him out of every part of my life. I blocked him wherever he would talk to me digitally, left the friend group, and don't talk to him at school. It's much better now

But still, you should've tried to understand why they did that, some reasons might be that they dont get as much attention as they need to be happy or they get totaly ignored because of you expressing yourself (no offense im not saying you shouldnt but im just stating some possibilities) or they might feel left out because they cant relate and that would affect your relationship, and sometimes you might be biased with the facts so you mightve talked about more trans stuff than you'd think. If you think im one of the transphobic people, im not, im a genderfluid and aroace person. sure i cant relate to coming out irl but iv experienced similar stuff with friends.

Hi! Um I need help... I would ask other people but I don't want them to know and I don't even know you so it won't really affect me if I tell you all. I just want to know if my friend is toxic. So I have this friend I'll call her lilly as a fake name and I've known her ever since we were 2! We got along great! Untill. 4th grade she's a year younger than me so was in 3 grade and we always walked home together but she said she had to start driving home with her mom. And I was sad but it was ok! After maybe month of that I was walking home and I saw her walking home. I was really upset! But she was pretty far so I thought it probably wasn't her! As I was walking I saw her hide from me. I just ran inside crying after that. We eventually made up and started talking again! And everything was fine untill about 2-3 months ago! So me and lilly call and text each other all the time! But she's pretty mean to me. Whenever I say how stupid and ugly I feel she agrees! She even calls me names! And she knows I'm very sensitive to when people call me mean and she called me a bully! She also thretins me! She always hurts me! She punches me, hits me, and pushes me! She also embarrasses me! I have bruses bc of her! And if I don't agree with her she hurts me! If I talk when she doesn't want me to she hurts me! And for Halloween we were going to dress up together! We had been planning it for months! We were going to be avater characters! Than she gulted me into being an harry potter character! Than on halloween she diched me! We were going to go trick or treating and on Halloween she refused to give me any information about where she was! Untill she finished trick or treating! We eventually went trick or treating together and she made me take hand fulls from the bowls even tho I hated it! And I was talking to her about how upset I was and she laughed at me!!!! Everytime I cry she makes fun of me!😭 I don't want to be her friend anymore but she's my only friend! What should I do?????

5:15 this is exactly my first toxic friendship in one word. That was what my ex friend would always tell me when I didn't do what she told me to do. So I was like her maid. When you have your toxic friends you just don't realize the red flags and how bad they're treating you. But yeah, in life you will just find toxic people. Very good that you stood up for yourself. I didn't, she just stoped being my friend because I ignored her one day. Edit: meant "in one sentence"

Why would you be friends with someone who doesn't appreciate you or values you? When I was with that toxic friend, they once told me they didn't wanted to be friends with me just because I said that my parents disliked her, I instantly cried because of the fear of being alone. And yes being alone is the worst. I am feeling that right now in my new school. I still have friends who do treat me well and have things in common. It's just my personal opinion. i actually stopped being friends with some people in high school last year. i will be fair, i started the argument we had but i also apologized and took all of the blame, they still decided that i was ' uncomfortable ' to hang out with me and went to the mall without me. i was honestly really hurt because i thought we would just forgive and forget, the night i found out was terrible and i contacted the ' lead girl ' and said that we should just stop being friends if that's how i was going to be treated. lately i've been missing one of them who i had a lot in common with, i may get back in touch with her since she was super sweet and caring and i want to see if i can have some sort of friendship with at least her.

    @angrynoodletwentyfive6463

    Жыл бұрын

I'm not sure what this argument was about and I really don't need to because it doesn't really matter at this point who was in the right and who was in the wrong, it happened a year ago. However there are some important things to keep in mind in order to have healthier relationships in the future 1. when you give an apology there shouldn’t really be an expectation of "forgive and forget", If something is actually worth apologizing for than the other person would be completely justified in not accepting your apology. If it is something that isn't worth apologizing for and somebody doesn't accept your apology then they are trying to string you along in guilt to control you. In either case the healthy response is to accept their decision and give them the distance they want. Even if it is painful and you have to grieve the lost connection. You may be able to try to check back in awhile later and see if they are ready to accept your apology after they have been given some space, but they still may not accept it and that is their choice. 2. Everyone is varying degrees of toxic in high school. Toxicity isn't a trait that some people are born with it is a trait that some people never grow out of. nobody in high school knows how to maintain a healthy relationship, fights and break ups are going to happen because none of you have enough experience with relationships to know how to have a mutually sustained relationship with proper boundaries and an understanding of each others faults. The thing adults don't like to tell you is that you are not going to have a completely healthy relationship with somebody your own age until AT LEAST Sophomore year of college, that does not mean you should not TRY to build friendships in high school, it just means that you should have an understanding that break ups and fights and drama are just par for the course and even though it can hurt really bad to go through it, relationships will not always be such a mine field. True friendships are waiting for you in your 20's and beyond some of them might even carry over from high school, but the toxic drama teenage years of friendships are unavoidable and you can either find a way to make the best of it or grit your teeth and keep walking until you come out on the other side.

I literally got this video recommended to me 4 years ago, while in a toxic relationship. It’s scary how my experience is really similar to shgurrs. This video was the beginning of when I began to question if my relationship was toxic. Needless to say, after being best friends for almost 7 years, I finally gathered the courage and ended things with her about 3 years ago. Advice for people in relationships they may think are toxic, trust your gut, do research about what a toxic relationship is, and don’t be afraid of ending up “alone” after dropping the toxic friend. After I dropped her, I met some of the best friends I could ask for (online friends) and we’re now coming up on our 2 year anniversary of meeting each other ❤

Shiiiii honestly, I was friend #2. In middle school, I treated the closest people to me like absolute garbage, it's embarrassing to look back. Now that I'm in college, I've reached out to each of them and apologized. I've actually become even closer to two of the girls I mistreated and we're inseparable now. Lesson: it's never too late to apologize and fix your mistakes! You will always have the choice to become a better person, so treat the people in your circle with kindness and respect--it's okay to poke fun of each other, but know the limits because if you don't, you could be straight up bullying a friend without realizing it.

I am so happy that this video shows the affects of a non romantic toxic relationship because it's real and it happens to a lot of people. I’ve learned the hard way too many times that no something is better then toxic/bad something, fill in something with friends, dnd, or anything really. If anyone cares for the reason I stayed with some many people is because I somehow sub-consciously forgive people, or at least now because I can realize when someone is toxic.

I finally left my toxic cousins after years of me doing what they asked me to do. My faith crisis in the Mormon church was paused for a long time because of them. It took me 2 years to figure out it was fake after that. I sent my cousin a text about 10 minutes ago. I don't want to be her friend anymore. She hasn't responded yet, but I'm so excited for the future without her. I can do my own thing now without her! *Janaury 22 2024* She never leaves me alone even when I tell her. It's like she's delusional or something, and I know that she's toxic for me. A few weeks ago, I went to a dance with my brother, and we were forced to bring her, and she completely abandoned my brother when he had to go to the bathroom. I reminded her about 30 minutes after she came and hung out with me and my friends. She left about an hour and a half after we got there and my brother wanted to go home so he asked my dad if we could go home and we left 30 minutes early. I told my parents about it, and my dad blamed me and my cousin, but mostly me, because im his older sister. I told my brother i wanted to just hang out with my friends and he was fine with that and we forgot to tell my cousin our plans so that's why that happened. That's the story of my brother's first dance, and I feel horrible about it.

@@queen_simp I was very close to my cousins because they only lived 90 minutes away. I started talking to my cousin. I'll call Alex. Alex and I are two years apart, and I told him doubts about the church, and he told me, "Pray about it and think about your family and friends." I did pray and barely felt anything, so I told him. And then he told me, "It wasn't the right time," and that broke me, so I pushed all of that down. Quarantine started and became friends with his sister. I'll call Danielle. The friendship with Danielle started off good, but then I asked about her family life, and she lied to me about Alex, and that made me view him as a terrible person. In October, she showed me a cartoon, and we were having fun, but 12 years old me was trying to get ungrounded, so I told my mom the truth. Danielle changed so much after that, so she became this Molly mormon, and I didn't like it, but I stayed with her. Time went by, and we began to develop different personalities and standards. She became rude so I stopped being her friend and now I'm worried for the next time I go to visit them. And yeah, that's what happened.

There's this girl in my class who shares a love for musical theatre, something my other friends didn't. I had a good circle of friends and she was sort of an outcast, so I decided I wanted to be her friend. She has diabetes, so she needs to take ten minutes out of her lunch time to go to the nurses office to have a jab that puts her sugar levels at a low enough level to eat food. I said I'd wait for her one lunchtime and i had to wait. Then she told me she usually sat on the other side of the school to pe, which was always after lunch so my whole class was there. I thought it was fine because it was a one off. At least I thought, but she started making me sit with her everyday, even when I said I had plans with other friends. One day my closest friend told me she got excluded from a group of older friends so I rushed to comfort her one lunchtime without telling my other "friend". When we made our way to our next lesson she got mad at me saying I'm a terrible friend for not caring about her. Once my friends got in an argument and were asking me to choose sides, and i told my "friend" about it and she said "just stick with me then! Forget them". I decided to talk to the arguing friends myself and we all worked something out. Now I don't know what to do when we go back to school. She has other friends yet she's so possessive over me and doesn't let me spend my break with other people. She had to get tested for different medication so she spent the week in London and i noticed I was happier and more productive. When she got back she asked me what I possibly did in my lunch break as if I couldn't do anything without her. She said once "oh I'm so happy someone is there to sit with me every lunchtime!", which makes me feel bad about wanting to ditch her because she acts like she needs me because no one else waits a quarter of their lunch for her. I feel like people will judge me because she has diabetes and she "just wants friends" but she is a really toxic friend. I dunno

(Trigger Warning) I had someone like that in my life. They were really possessive over me and never let me hangout with my other friends. When I tried to hangout with someone else she would say its my fault that she's depressed or she might as well kill herself. Even though I tried talking to her about it and she said she would change, but never did. After one year of it only getting worse, I decided it would be best for me and her (hopefully she will learn something from me leaving) to cut all ties. I would say my advice to you is to stop talking to her slowly or fast. I feel as if fast is the best way to get your point across and it will only get worse as time progresses.

I’d tell her that you don’t like how possessive she’s being, and tell her your gonna sit with your other friends sometimes too,and give her a chance to stop being so possessive. However, if she doesn’t stop, then just end your friendship, tbh. A true friend would stop doing something that made you feel bad, and if she’s not gonna show you the loyalty you show her, than she doesn’t really deserve your friendship. I know you don’t want her to feel bad, but your not responsible for her happiness. There’s a difference between putting yourself first, and being selfish. I’ve been through a very similar situation, and I know it’s hard, but its either be miserable, for her sake, or be happy for your sake. Btw, Jaiden animations made a good video on this, it’s called relationships
