StoryFest 2021: A Conversation with Michael Lewis
Музыка
Financial journalist and New York Times best-selling author, Lewis has published sixteen books on subjects ranging from politics to Wall Street. His newest book, The Premonition: A Pandemic Story follows three central characters - a biochemist, a public health worker and a federal government employee who worked in the White House - as they confront the pandemic and find that the response from the United States government is woefully inadequate.
Lewis is interviewed by award-winning journalist and author Lisa Belkin. Belkin spent thirty years at the New York Times, with titles that varied from national correspondent to medical reporter, to the New York Times Magazine. Belkin and Lewis are graduates of Princeton University, class of ’82.
The Library is very grateful to Fermat Capital for their generous sponsorship of this program.

Haven't seen Mr. Lewis popping up as much lately. It's always great to hear him. I wonder if he's going to slip into a place where no one will want to hear how badly we screwed up as a country.
John McPhee is my favorite author followed by Michael Lewis!
I lost a friend to suicide in High School, he was the smartest kid I knew. He was also a great athlete but wouldn’t go out for any team, and it changed my life.
Check out Norm Dixon’s On the Psychology of Military Incompetence. It pairs very well with A Premonition.
We expect to lose our parents and fear losing children, and when it happens we know how integrated we are, so "I am you and you are me and we".. are embedded in universal Bio-logical re-evolution circularity, all together. It is a lot simpler to understand directly than, "love your Enemy", willy-nilly, but harder to teach and learn without the experience because each of us is a unique composition integrated into greater uniqueness.
Very interesting.
