Drummer of the biggest progressive metal band on earth. Revered by accomplished musicians and his peers. yet, he still remembers playing segue camera cuts on a network show 30 years ago and getting paid okay and a free meal. Danny is such a humble and positive guy.

First time seeing them was 2002. Bought tix for my brother's birthday so we could go together. Got in a fight and went with boyfriend and his buddies. Remember back then my ex bragging about what a great drummer Danny is. That concert hooked him and he was die hard tool, tattoo and all. Here it is 18 years later and you'd think he'd have larger notoriety. However, he may be the kind that doesn't want that. Saw an interview thing other day with Danny on KZread. They're talking about covid and how he had to stay home. But in same breath, he lit up & was THRILLED to be home when his second child was born. So maybe he tries hard to keep out of it, doing smaller projects. Trent is somewhat similar - not into spotlight, kinda shy, private, now has 5 fucking kids! Lol

I hope Danny realizes he did operate very harmonically with the band on this last album in particular. I hope he continues to do so, because those moments were some of the most innovative concepts I've heard. That 3 note Invincible polyrhythm conflicting with the outlined guitar chords opened my eyes to a scarcely explored musical frontier.

Unbelievable content. Kudos to the interviewer for asking good leading questions, he was engaged and interested in telling you his story. Danny is a wonderful, humble master of his craft.

He's so quick to laugh and always smiling! Not to mention the best drummer on the planet!!! What an ambassador for rock!! Love ya D.C.!!! You rock bro!

I have a feeling he’s hilarious at times.

Saw them a week ago and his chocolate trip performance made me feel like I was on mushrooms stone cold sober..I gotta wonder how these guys feel physically Danny constantly sitting and drumming, Adam and Justin bother with the heavy Gibson and wal hanging from them (and Justin is very animated the whole show) for years now well into their 50s and early 60s…I’m in good shape and my head was thumping afterward.

thinking i could teach myself the drums was the dumbest fucking thing i ever came up with! specially in a time when youtube wasnt around. i really had the talent when i was younger to learn anything on the drums, i just didnt have the money to buy more books, n refused to take lessons. fuckin stupid, it wasnt till i was 24, applied to the mi, n got refused because i was like a 4th year drummer with over 10 years experience. word of advice kid, take lessons, and practice what they teach you, im as good a drummer now at 33 as i should have been at 15
