My favorite fan footballing memory has got to be when my grandfather either got the date wrong or some other kind of mix-up when taking me to a single-A Tampa Bay Yankees baseball game. However, when we got there was actually a crowd and noise, which is something that never happens at a lower minor-league baseball game; and that is because it was actually a Tampa Bay Rowdies football (or SOCCER!) game instead. That day they played the Portland Timbers in an NASL game (rip,) The game was a fantastic 3-3 draw, and I've been a fan of the team ever since.

With that being said my favourite footballing memory would actually be learning how to play football. I was 7 and before anything, I already know about the sport through tv but I do not know how to play the sport. So one day during my school recess I saw my friends playing football but with a plastic water bottle 😂 I decided to join in and the minute I kick that bottle through the goal (mini goal post we created ourselves) I cannot believe what I was feeling. The joy, excitement, happiness, celebration. All these adrenaline was rushing through my veins. From then on this sport has given me a hell of a roller coaster journey. This is football. Football is entertainment, football is life ❤

Personally, I think the Mercurial leak is nice. I think they will blow up the marketing closer to release, but they are just giving you a little cheeky peak at the idea of it. Gets people talking about them, questioning them... But personally, the first pics of the 16s with the grip knit is my favorite sneak peek release in like the last 6 models. I know the grip knit may simply be saving money but it mixes up the mercurial and I think it totally makes sense bc people loved the texture on the GXs and it will be slightly different on the Mercs. Anyways, we are talking about it months before it's release and I think they will do better more effective marketing within a month of release, but I haven't been this stoked for the mercs since the 10s

They will blow up the marketing closer to the time for sure, and you're right it got people talking about them, for about a week and then nobody cared anymore, I feel like it would have made more sense to do this, but much closer to the release date. As for the GripKnit I'm not sold on the idea but it could 100% work, so I'll hold judgement until I actually get them on feet.

Just to corroborate on the Tekela on AG dont do it i tore my ACL with them

To shed some light on Under Armour, I live in Baltimore and have worked with them recently on some of their Under Armour FC campaigns and had a chance to chat to the marketing director. They definitely have a plan and a lot of what we are seeing right now is rebuilding/updating their marketing efforts from their the last few years. In my option, they seem to be taking some notes from what New Balance is doing, which is good to see. I also got a sneak peak at what is to come within the next year and it's exciting.

Thanks for the insight much appreciated, love to hear stuff from anyone with some additional information. They're certainly improving that's no doubt. The odd one for me at the moment is the colourways that go onto the feet of pros and then don't release or release a crazy amount of time later!!! At least they've got a really great product line with the Shadow Pro. Hopefully if they can pull the marketing off like you say they'll have some success. NB are a good pattern to follow.

This isn’t confirmed, but from my understanding, the Europe team is focusing more on working directly with pros and essentially they are getting custom cleats that are currently in production instead of the ones currently available, but I could be wrong. The focus in Europe for them seems to be more on signing new talent post Trent. I can also confirm that a lot of these colorways are available in the US sooner than Europe and other international locations.

@@mburns396 makes sense to be working with some pros especially post Trent and UA are 100% on the up which is great to see, they've had some great boots before that maybe just needed to be marketed differently or needed a bit of luck. The colourways thing will forever baffle me though, if it's going on the feet of pros make sure it is available or it's going to be soon, otherwise what's the point just setting your potential customers up for disappointment. Couple of the lads we mention in the podcast are in the US and they always get annoyed at not being able to grab colourways.

@@BootWizard Yea that is always a frustration, but to be fair I feel it has gotten like that across the board, like you mention with the new merc, Ultra and also the upcoming F50. Feels like pros have been testing the f50 for 6 months and we almost have an entire years work of leaked colorways (unless they take the predator approach, then its only 3 months worth 😂). It seems for UA that it should improve in the future from what I'm told but we will wait and see.

@@mburns396 I'd say there's a big difference in for example the F50, that's a prototype on feet, nothing launched and leaks are leaks, not much can be done, if the UA were leaks fair enough, but they've chosen to put colourways on the feet of pros and then not release them, which for a smaller brand in the football boot space just looks disorganised and can end up being a bit of a disaster. You mention the F50, again, leaks are leaks, not worried about that, but you know the F50 is coming and it will, same with the Merc, while it's annoying that it will take so long to be released, it will be released, UA have whole colourways that never drop despite going on the feet of pros, makes absolutely no sense. If it's a signature colourway for 1 individual fair enough, but that never seems to be the case and the lack of communication or marketing there certainly don't help. As you say it should be improving but right now it's still got a long way to go even in terms of just pure logic. The Ultra is one that's a bit weird because as of right now we don't know what's going on. But I'd be willing to bet all will become clear, not a bet I'd take with the UA strategy. Again, hoping they get better and they do seem to be, but using my podcast logic, make boot, put boot on feet of pros, release boot, it should be so simple.

@@Krissfootykicks nah, get em tested straight away 😂. I've had a few pairs of UA over the years, some real highs like the clutchfit force 3 and some real lows as well. The Shadow Pro 1 I like, the 2 looks like it should be an improvement too.

@@BootWizard 😂 i did but it was the worst mid-week game to play in. Torrential rain and the pitch was muddy as hell before you knew it. I got the white and blue ones. But I’m tempted to get the green & purple, seen them reduced to £115! 🤯 It’s never been a brand I’ve had much exposure too. But honestly i was really surprised. Really surprised.

I've always wanted to try the pantafolos but was too afraid to jump in on them. You guys think they're actually usable in game?

@@patitoduck123 probably would be the Lazzarinis. These new ones, the Smiley ones or the Zanettis. Probably came closest to buying the superstars tho. Just something about them that I like but they all look so straight and stiff. Price isn't so bad as long as they were usable. Love old school boots but was just never sure on them

The problem is they are nice once they are broken in, but they are stiff out of the box. Go a half size down with them, at least.

On your last podcast you all said Nike Tiempo might come back to Kangaroo or Calfskin leather. Can you all tell me if this is a true rumour? And where did you here about it.

We can't really say where we got the info unfortunately, but it's a reputable source that Nike have put in orders for Kangaroo leather. Which then in turn obviously leads to the assumption that they will return the Tiempo or at least a boot to K-Leather. We can't confirm this is 100% going to happen, just some information and a conclusion we drew from it.
