Storm Pia EARLY MORNING CHAOS at Manchester Airport! | 5 GO AROUNDS 21/12/23

Storm Pia has been battering the UK pretty much all day today. Sadly I had work at 9am this morning so was only able to capture the very first arrivals of the day between 05:30 and 07:30. In this time the wind very quickly reached gusts over 40 Knots. I would've been able to film a lot more arrivals in the 2 hours I was there however not long after 07:00 all arrivals were suspended following multiple consecutive windshear go arounds. Arrivals did not resume until around 08:00. Based on the relatively short time I was there I was quite happy with a total of 5 Go Arounds all due to Windshear ranging from 737's & A320's all the way up to the A380.

Admittedly not one of my better storm videos. I had really wanted to spend the full day at MAN today but was unable to do so due to work commitments. As it turned out today probably provided the most amount of Go Arounds at MAN since Storm Ciara or maybe even Storm Doris back in 2017, with things such as the Singapore A350 & Kuwait A330neo going around today. I'll come back for the next big one! In the mean time after watching my video have a check out of some of todays action as captured by other creators such as Planespotting Ringway, Airliners Live, Think Planes, Simon Lowe & Macc Aviation. All of them braved the elements for most of the day to capture some cracking shots. Gutted I wasn't able to bring you anything more than a mass of fuzzy aircraft lights against a pitch dark backdrop!
